Well I'm a self taught cook, who learned most of what I know through websites, cookbooks, and Food network (aside from baking, which I learned most of that growing up with Mom owning a cheesecake shop.)
My favorite things to cook
My Meatballs always go over well at parties and are super easy so I love making those. Also love making Chicken Marsala(Dad's Favorite). Also anything that I've never cooked before is always fun.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mom was a professional cake decorator and all around fantastic baker so cakes and cheesecakes were always around. Not many traditions in the family in ways of food outside of the normal holiday get-togthers.
My cooking triumphs
Seeing the look on my parents faces when I made them dinner for the first time. They didn't know that I could cook, let alone cook them the dinner that I did.
2011 St. Patrick's Day Corned beef was amazing, so that gets its own nod.
My cooking tragedies
I'd say falling asleep with the oven on counts and burning everything in the oven to a complete crisp would be my worst. Working back-to-back-to-back. 16 hour days and trying to cook doesn't always work out.
