I made this recipe in 2001, loved it, used other recipes since and have come back to this one. Look no further. I made it again this year (2009) and my family raved. My kids asked for seconds, my sister-in-law who eats like a bird couldn't stop eating it and my dad said it reminded him of the stuffing that his mom and aunt used to make. What a compliment. The only changes I made were adding about 2 cloves of minced garlic, an additional loaf of white bread that I toasted in the oven and then cut into cubes. Start with around 2 cups of broth and work your way up to your desired consistency. I ended up using about 4.5 cups. I made mine the night before and then set the slow cooker on low for about 4.5 hours. It was perfect. I think this recipe is going to be my yearly standard.
