About this Cook
I am a married mother of two sons and a grandmother of seven girls- go figure that one out! I have retired from the workforce and just completed my college degree.
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE FOOD! Anyhting that sounds good to me is open to be thrown in as an ingredient to a recipe.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Stuffing at Christmas and Thanksgiving is very important to me. I also love to cook Italian- my husband's favorite!
My cooking triumphs
My stuffing is the best thing I make. My family (about 40 people during the holidays) raves at Thanksgiving and Christmas over it every year! I also have a roast receipe and a green bean recipe that my family thinks I should try to market.
My cooking tragedies
When I'm in the mood I cook like a maniac! The tragedy of that is that the mood hits me only about two or three times a week. No big deal, though- my family loves leftovers, so I make sure I cook enough at one time to satisfy them!

Caramelized Red Bell Peppers and Onions
Wonderful use of mini tri-colored bell peppers! I used a mix of balsamic vinegar and red wine vinegar and chicken stock instead of wine. I also added some cherry tomatoes that I had to use up. Served as a side dish with the Honey Brine Fried Chicken Breasts and Cowboy Mashed Potatoes from this site. Hubby could not stop eating until he said," I think I broke my stomach!" Next time I'm going to make these with eggs as suggested.

Simple Slow Cooker Pork Chops
Excellent! I made a few changes, though. Instead of water I used vegetable broth. Only used two thick pork chops but kept the other ingredients the same. Seasoned the chops with Mrs. Dash (original)) and browned them in a skillet. Then I deglazed the pan with some white wine and added it to the other ingredients. I didn't add potatoes, but in the last hour I added some potato, spinach and cheese perogies. It was fantastic!
