Rolled Fondant Halloween Cake
About this Cook
I'm a born and raised Albertan, but I currently attend school in Utah. I love to cook and bake-- and my roommates and friends love it. They even let me use some of their ingredients if I let them eat a bit of what I make ;)
My cooking triumphs
I successfully hosted Canadian thanksgiving for 18 of my American friends this past October. I did make a quick call home to my dad with turkey-roasting questions, though =]
My cooking tragedies
One time I was in a hurry, so I bought a pre-made pie crust. I thought that it was a pre-baked one, but apparently it wasn't- that was one nasty, soggy lemon meringue pie

Apple Crisp II
It was alright, but the topping was very dry and almost powdery. I will try adding more butter or use less flour next time.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
I really don't like this recipe. The cookies turned out cake-like and didn't have much flavour. They just weren't good at all. I'm positive I did everything correctly, but they just didn't turn out. I won't bother making modifications to this recipe- I'll just use a whole different one. I don't recommend wasting ingredients on it.

Asian Orange Chicken
I absolutely love this recipe. I make it very often- for myself and also due to numerous requests for that 'amazing orange chicken'. I usually use about a tbs. more orange juice (squeezed from the oranges I got the zest from) and I put about 3 tbs. more brown sugar in the sauce after I remove some for the marination. It makes it a little less overbearing. If you're in a hurry you can skip the marination and it still turns out really good, but it is worth the wait to have the chicken get that great orange flavour. I highly recommend this recipe!
