About this Cook
I am a stay home mother of 2 who loves to try new recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Cakes, cupcakes and pasta dishes are a favorite!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We always make muffins every saturday morning with the kids. They love making special muffins for each other to try.
My cooking triumphs
I baked my first cake when I was 33 and it was horrible! I tried again 2 months later, tweaked it a little and everyone loved it!
My cooking tragedies
My best friend gave me a recipe for a "pink" sauce to use on my pasta. I was 7 months pregnant and trying to experiment with my cooking. The recipe called for heavy whipping cream, which I had no idea what it was. I bought sweetened cond. milk, added it to the sauce and it was disgusting. My husband ate it all because I cried the entire night over my disaster. He even went back for seconds! What a guy.

Cajun Seafood Pasta
Wonderful, easy recipe! I would give it 5 starts but I did make several changes so it is different. I cut back on the amount of pepper because I'm not a huge fan of very spicy foods. I used about 3/4 tsp red pepper and 1 tsp black pepper. I cut out the white pepper bc I didin't have any and it was fine. I added sauteed red peppers and red onions which I think added even more flavor. I doubled the garlic and used an extra 1/2 cup of whipping cream. I also added the cheese first as others had recommended. Once that was well blended I added the seafood. It was soooo good!!!! Definitely a favorite and will make often. Thanks for sharing :)

Green Grog
I made this last night for Bunko and it was a huge hit! I had a St. Patty's Day theme so I renamed it the "manky leprechaun!" It is very dangerous so go slow. One thing I did change......I didn't have plain rum on hand so I used Coconut flavored rum and it was DELICIOUS! Something about the lime and the coconut together, mmmmmm! It's now one of my favorite drinks. Not too sweet.

Hot Corn Dip
A girl brought this to a tennis match and it was a huge hit! It was gone long before we finished our match. So, I made it for my husband and he couldn't stop eating it either. I added some sour cream and a little red peper to give it some spice. It may not be "pretty" but it is very addictive and delicious!!!
