About this Cook
Recently returned back to work after being at home with my children. I love to cook nice meals for my family and I find it very satisfying to find new things for us to try and enjoy!
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new things. I enjoy grilling, smoking meats, and making comforting foods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
For Christmas Eve, my family likes to do the untraditional to prepare for the usual fare. We like to make chicken, shrimp, andouille sausage over a creamy white sauce with pasta. This seems to be our special tradition.
My cooking triumphs
I consider anything I can make that we all like a success!
My cooking tragedies
I think one of my memorable tragedies is when my best friend had her first baby ( 12 yrs ago )and I wanted to make her peach cobbler. I needed Pam spray and she didn't have much in her cupboard. ( I brought all the goodies I could think of) Anyway, I saw a trial size can of Pam with garlic and I thought,"How much garlic could it be?' After one bite, I realized I had ruined the cobbler and Pam sure did a good job making their garlic spray!

Best Farmers' Market Pimento Cheese
I love this as a base, but I used 3 T. light mayo and only 1 T of worcestershire sauce. I am not a huge pimento fan, so I used roasted red peppers to sub. I also added a little yellow mustard and a few drops of hot sauce. Love it!( Okay, I changed it a tad.. :) )

Cinnamon-Roasted Almonds
I think with tweaking the ingredients, you can increase the flavor quite a bit. I used 3/4 C. of brown sugar and a full teaspoon of cinnamon. Great recipe!
