Hot and Sour Chicken and Cabbage Soup
Hot and Sour Chicken and Cabbage Soup
About this Cook
I am a retired student for the moment but i am a caterer outside of my house along with my mom. I specialize in cheesecakes and soups. I love to cook and my family has always been famous among friends and family for it. I had the best teachers in the world- my beloved grandmas and my mom.
My favorite things to cook
cookies, cake, cheesecake, soups... not crazy about the meats end of cooking. salads side dishes and the like. I like to make anything that appears unique :)
My cooking triumphs
When I was in high school, I entered regional pastry arts competition competing against others in the Vocational/ techinical field of Culinary Arts. I earned 2 stars and my instructor was hoping I would get to state level but I didnt. For a whole month before state competition started, we waited for that phone call and whenever the phone rang, the whole class held their breaths. I also made a blt appetizer cheesecake a long time ago (or i thought it was) until i realized i couldnt find the recipe anymore so I made my own. It was different because it really did have tomatoes and bacon inside the cheesecake. It has become a hit with everyone that has come across it and it is a signature dish for my moms catering business that we started back in june of 2007. I am a little weary to post it on allrecipes because it's THAT special to us. We are still making it along with our other "signature" dishes at reasonable prices. If you are looking for a caterer in the ne ohio area please contact me

Caramel Frosting V
Very good. I forgot the baking soda while i was making it. stuck it into the freezer for it to cool off faster. Whipped it with my kitchen aid mixer with the whisk attachment. I had to add a few rounded tablespoons of powdered sugar. I found no use for the baking soda, if you dont have any, dont worry about it. i iced this onto my apple cake and it was a big hit at my church's meet and greet. thanks for the recipe!!

Andrea's Pasta Fagioli
I made it today for a soup sampler I'm particitating in tomorrow so I doubled it. I used the italian spices seasoning that I had in bulk to the nearest rounded tablespoon (or 2) and extra garlic.. I ran the elbow pasta in cold water but it still soaked up most of the broth (I didnt double the noodles just the spices and broth) It didnt have enough tomato-y taste so I used up the leftover can of low sodium v8 I had in the fridge.. I also added some red pepper flakes and gonna add crushed tomatoes for more texture.. my family liked it so I will have to see how it goes tomorrow.. thanks!
