About this Cook
I love to cook and bake. I was raised with a mother who cooked everything from scratch right down to her crackers.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make desserts. Pies, cakes, parfaits. Anything that looks fancy I have to try once.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We always had a huge garden when I was growing up and I can remember helping my mother prepare and can food from the garden. Rather it be stewed tomatoes or fresh green beans, summer meant a busy, tasty time in our household. We used to have races to see who could eat their corn on the cob the fastest. Yum!
My cooking triumphs
Making gravy almost as good as my mother's. I always would get lumps and it would never come out right. Now I can make it almost perfect everytime.
My cooking tragedies
There is nowhere to start. I have burnt things, had a lot of spill overs in the oven, added too much garlic, the list could go on. But every time I have learned from my mistakes. I have also tried to make my mother's wonderful, delicious dinner rolls twice now and they have never turned out right. But I won't give up.

Corn Dogs
I made mini ones because I didn't have any skewers. I liked them but they weren't as crispy as I would've liked.

Banana Crumb Muffins
I made this as a loaf of bread and it came out delicious. I added more cinnamon and a touch of nutmeg as well as some coconut just because. With or without those things it is perfect.
