I am a graduate student in Museum Studies currently living in England. After I'm finished with my Masters degree my husband and I will return to the US to live in Indianapolis.
My favorite things to cook
I love making healthy meals with lots of veggies. I prefer messy family-style dinners with lots of bread and sauces. I LOVE LOVE LOVE artisanal cheeses, especially goats cheese. I also adore seafood, particularly shellfish.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is very much from the "hot dogs and mac and cheese" school of cooking. My husband's family, however, loves to make home-made healthy meals.
My cooking triumphs
I recently made a home-made completely from scratch tiramisu for my husband's birthday. It was difficult yet delicious!
My cooking tragedies
Some burned bruschetta and/or over cooked pasta here and there, but nothing too bad.

Baked Buffalo Wings
These wings were really quite tasty. I'm not ready to say that they're the best I've ever had, but they certainly rival that of most restaurants and we were very pleased with them. I think there are a few musts with these if you want them to be crispy: 1) pat your wings dry before coating with flour and let them sit in the fridge. Ours sat for an hour and that was perfectly fine. 2) Don't line your pan with foil. While it might make clean-up a little easier, it does nothing to help crisp your wings. We spread a little olive oil on a cookie sheet and spread them evenly. At about the 30 minute mark we drained any oil or juices off and then put them back in the oven. 3) Don't put the sauce on right away. We baked ours for about 25 minutes, flipped them, baked for another 15 or so, and THEN rolled them in sauce before putting them back in for another 10 minutes or so. Our wings were crispy and delicious. Hopes this helps some!

Potato Latkes I
These were lovely! My first attempt at latkes so I think that, with time, I'll really be able to perfect the timing on them.

Egyptian Feta Cheese Omelet Roll
Like many others, I felt this was a good base recipe from which to add your own ingredients to make it 4+ stars. Personally, I added fresh mushrooms, scallions, and onion to the feta mixture. Next time I might add fresh garlic or sun-dried tomatoes. Rolling the omelette seemed to really pull the ingredients together in a lovely way. Will make again!
