About this Cook
I love to cook, but I think I know just enough to be dangerous (just kidding). I have been cooking for friends, family and myself since I was a teenager. I have always dreamed of going to culinary school, but it is too expensive.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, especially pies, cakes and quick breads. I would like to be more adventurous, but I never seem to have the kitchen space.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Family get togethers and holidays are good for me, but now that I live in Ohio, it will be more difficult to get together with my family. Maybe I will meet people here in Ohio who like to get together for cooking parties or something
My cooking triumphs
I catered a graduation party for my best friend. Her husband threw a party and invited 150 of her closest friends and relatives. The air conditioning was messed up and everyone showed up an hour early, but I managed to feed everyone and they loved my food.
My cooking tragedies
My first pie I made was a lemon chess pie for my father. I didn't quite grasp the concept of cooking the custard a second time. I put it in the pie shell and cooked it in the oven according to recipe directions and when I took it out, it looked fine. When we cut into after dinner, it was almost liquid in texture. I was totally embarassed.

Grilled Italian Burgers
These burgers are very good. However, I found them to be more of a Greek burger than an Italian one, what with the addition of feta cheese. I would make these for friends. I am making them next week for my company get together.
