I'm a college kid living at home with my dad. I'm a full-time student, and I work part-time, as well. What really sucks about my schedule is that by the time I get home, there's rarely ever anything cooked, so I have to eat either instant noodles or grab some grub from a fast food joint. "Why don't you cook instead?", you ask. Well, who wants to friggin' cook when they're already dragging?! Besides, frozen meats take too long to cook, and we only have the usual corned beef and Spam in our cupboard --- and eating the same stuff every time gets a little tiring, you know? So now I'm trying to expand my cooking skills with the easiest recipes I can find. Go, me!
My favorite things to cook
Ooooh, oooh, ooooh! That's an easy one! Honey Walnut Shrimp! I also like chicken curry (cafeteria food-style), but whenever I try to make it, it turns out...not curry-ish enough. I only got lucky the first time I tried making it because the juice was thick and it was just delish. I've also tried my hand at baking a couple times before. Nothing fancy, mind you... Just some cake mix and brownie mix. But the first time I REALLY tried baking something was when I made cream puffs. Although it did taste good when everything was made from scratch... Well, let's just say that it was more of a cream 'pancake'. Hehe. Now, as for canned goods, corned beef (esp. Ox & Palm) and cabbage is satisfying every now and then.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Huh? You mean like parties? Errr... I don't really help out with the cooking for parties cuz I'm a clueless cook, and besides, all my other cousins do all the easy work --- and I hate frying cuz I always get splashed with the hot oil.
My cooking triumphs
Honey Walnut Shrimp.
My cooking tragedies
Cream PANCAKES -- not PUFFS!
