Didn't change a thing except to add the vinegar to the milk and let it sit for 5 minutes. What a great cake!! Thanks!

Original Nestle® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2014
My Nana was an experienced baker. And this was the only chocolate chip cookie recipe she would ever use. She said they were the best. Make sure your butter (use real butter) and eggs are at room temperature. Double the vanilla and chill for at least an hour. And let them rest on the cookie sheet after baking until they firm up. Perfect every time!

Better Than Sex Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2014
Our family has made this recipe for years. We use German Chocolate cake, poke holes with a wooden spoon (as other reviewers have mentioned), and then pour the whole jar of caramel topping into the holes in the warm cake. Then pour the whole can of condensed milk on top of that. Cover and let chill overnight. The top with the cool whip and the crushed toffee. Best cake ever!

Copycat Panera® Broccoli Cheddar Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2014
The family loved this soup. The only changes I made was to thin the roux with chicken broth instead of milk and added the broth instead of milk. Then I added all the veggies and simmered it, then added the milk at the end. Wonderful soup!

Very good cookies. I did as other reviews did and increased the eggnog and flour. Rolled them in yellow and blue sugar. Nice eggnog flavor. Thanks!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2013
Every Christmas, I make between 15 and 20 different cookies to give away on cookie platters. Over the years, I have tried making snickerdoodles many times with many different recipes (including my grandmother's). But I never could get them to turn out right. These are perfect! I did not change a thing. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2013
I have been making this recipe for years. I like that it uses cocoa powder instead of melted chocolate like my mom used to use. I only use 1 tsp vanilla and add 2 tsp mint extract and about 5 crushed up full sized candy canes. Thanks for the great recipe and memories.

Pfeffernusse Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2013
Reminds me of my German grandma's recipe. But you need to double the pepper,as the peppery taste fades as they sit.

Made exactly as written, except I used Oreos for the crust (because I had some around) and baked in a 12 x 8 pan with a water bath for 20 minutes. Thank you for this awesome recipe!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2013
Great recipe! I had the apples all prepped and realized I was out of oatmeal. So I subbed 3 packets(which equals 1 cup) of cinnamon spice instant oatmeal. I decreased the brown sugar by 1/4 cup to compensate for the sweetness of the oatmeal. And I increased the cinnamon and added nutmeg as suggested by other reviewers. Thanks for a great recipe!

Fresh Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2013
Just like my grandmother's pie! The only changes I made were to decrease the sugar to 1 cup and add a bit of nutmeg. My grandmother always dotted the top of her fruit pies with butter (under the top crust as the recipe states) and it really brings out the flavor. I agree with the other reviewers-do not mix the fruit in the sugar mixture. Doing it as the recipe states gives you a perfect (not soggy) bottom crust. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!!

Slow Cooker German-Style Pork Roast with Sauerkraut and Potatoes

Very nice! I skipped the garlic and the potatoes. Served it with mashed potatoes instead. Added diced onion, bay leaves, carrots and a diced apple and 1/4c apple cider vinegar. Tasted like my German grandmother's recipe. Thank you!!

My 12 year old daughter makes this. We add evaporated milk instead of the cream and 3 cans of undrained clams, garlic, pepper, onions sauteed in butter, sherry and a splash of hot sauce and Old Bay. Yummy!!

Very nice. I followed the recipe exactly, except I baked the chicken in the sauce instead of grilling it. Everyone loved it!

Fruit Cocktail Cake III

Wonderful cake! I made a sauce of 1/4c butter, 1/2c sugar and 1/4c buttermilk. Boiled it for 5 minutes and added a tsp of vanilla. I poked holes in the cake with a fork while still hot and poured it over the cake. Thanks for a great recipe!
