Festive Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2003
This is a wonderful recipe for those who like candy making but not with all the fuss. I've made it for 20 years-tried snipped, dried cherries, toffee bits or crushed candy canes for the nuts...tried orange, peppermint or coffee extract instead of vanilla... You really can't go wrong!

Pasta Salad with Shrimp and Basil

Reviewed: May 14, 2003
I love this salad!! In fact, I grow fresh basil every summer just for this recipe. It's delicious and fresh tasting, perfect for dinner on the patio.

Mom's Applesauce Pancakes

Reviewed: May 14, 2003
These are so yummy! We are a pancake eatin' family so I'm always looking for new recipes. At first I thought this sounded too simple to really be good but tried it anyway-boy, am I glad!! I usually make them as the recipe's written but have always thought about adding some finely chopped pecans.

Great Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2001
These are really great cookies, nice and moist. I usually put dried cranberries in them rather than raisins and I've never frosted them-they're still delicious! They freeze well so I can take out a few at a time, they're pretty tempting otherwise!

Marbled Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2001
I was really excited to try these potatoes but they were a little disappointing. The thyme seemed overpowering and the sweet potato portion was flavorless. The lack of taste made them 'not worth the effort'.

Toll House® Mini Morsel Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2001
These pancakes are so delicious, way better than that 'international pancake' place!! We have them at least twice a month and we'd eat them more often but that might be dangerous to the waistline. To make sure I always have the time for these I sometimes put the dry ingredients together the night before and that shaves off a few minutes in a busy household. There's just something about those warm chocolate chips....

Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2001
These are very good cookies! I love the chocolate and orange together, makes them a little more 'sophisticated'. These are going to be a new addition to my holiday cookie tray, something a little out of the ordinary.

Sophie's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2001
I've been using my zucchini bread recipe for 20 years and always thought it was very good. This one is even better! It's not too heavy and kids like it because it's just sweet enough. Next time I make it I'm going to throw in a handful of mini chocolate morsels and see how that goes. I baked mine in a bundt pan with great results and it looks a little 'fancier' for company. Thanks for sharing!!

French Toast Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2001
We are a waffle family and these were really a hit. I did make a couple changes after the first batch though, I added a little extra vanilla to enhance the flavor. I've also made these using 2 packets of Sweet and Low instead of sugar without any problems. They are very 'tender' just the way a good waffle should be.

This chowder was so terrific I'm already planning on when I can make it again!! It's creamy even with the reduced fat milk I used and was really easy to put together. A real keeper!!!
