Hawaiian Beef Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
I wasn't quite sure on the combination of kidney beans with pineapple when I read this but decided to go for it. This was very tasty and not overly sweet, turned out a little like a hawaiian chili. Delicious served over rice.

Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes with Ham

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
I read some of the reviews on this before I made so I did a little bit of a change. I used milk in place of water and I did it with seasoned and browned pork chops. This smelled great while cooking and the pork chops came out nice and moist. The only thing I think I will pass on when making it next is the cheese as we found it didn't really enhance the flavor.

Grandma Earhart's Pepper Pot Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
This was a hit with the whole family even without having the cheese to sprinkle on top. I left out the celery since we are not big fans of it but I did add some fresh minced garlic with the onion. I also used fresh mild italian sausage and for those who like things spicier use a spicier sausage. It was a fast meal and served with a salad made a complete meal.

Ann's Dirty Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
A new family FAV. I made it exactly as written and it turned out great. I think maybe I could even skip the uncooked rice and just add some leftover cooked rice when its handy. Loved how quickly this served up

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
I was worried about the amount of cayenne pepper but needlessly as it turned out amazing. I also didn't have fresh basil so had to substitute with dried. I also let this marinade over night and the flavors blended nicely. I didn't even bother with the skewers, just pan fried in a non stick skillet. YUMMY!!!!!

Potato Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
Used a little less dill as other reviewers suggested but I should have thrown in a bit more salt and some pepper too. I had some niblet corn leftover so I threw that in also.

A Firefighter's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
Despite not having the green onion and using picante sauce in place of salsa this turned out well. Crispy on the outside but moist on the inside.

Slow Cooker Veggie-Beef Soup with Okra

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
Good starter base but as written it was just bland and not soupy enough for us. I read a lot of reviews and followed others suggestion on seasoning and adding 2 cups of beef broth. A very hearty soup.

Had everything but the wine and it still turned out tasty. Very moist and flavorful.

Chris' Bay Area Burger

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
Not one of the better burgers in my family's opinion. They were not juicy at all and the basil taste was overpowering. On the plus side they were very filling.

Sausage Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
The only thing we fault this recipe is for the lack of seasonings, it was lacking in that. The spinach was a nice addition though so will keep in recipe rotation just adding more italian seasonings to the sauce.

Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
Delicious crispy fried chicken done with a slight change as per other reviews. I mixed half milk and half mayonnaise with 2 tbsp of ceasar salad dressing (I didn't have ranch like other reviewers) . I only used boneless skinless chicken breasts so maybe that is why it did take longer than 45 minutes.

Quick and Easy Sicilian Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
Crusty on the outside but tender on the inside. My husband loved the surprise of finding ham and swiss cheese inside the loaf.

Jammin' Beef Stew

What a nice tender stew! The jam works great and I preferred this to other stews that call for a red wine.

My first attempt at a Potato soup and did not disappoint. Super easy and perfect for a chilly day. Leftovers were good too.

Easy Pleasy Mac N Cheesy - US Navy Style

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
Made exactly as written and enjoyed the nice creamy delicious results. I might change using Ritz (buttery style crackers) instead of the saltines but otherwise nothing else needs to be changed. I like the other reviewer who suggested adding tuna, that be something to try the next time. Thanks for posting this super easy dish.

Jennie's Heavenly Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
Loved this recipe and we didn't find it overly saucy at all. It made a lot for the 2 of us so the first night was served with rice and second with egg noodles. The sauce was excellent with both.

Pork Apple Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
I only rated this 3 because we didn't care for the taste of the dried mushrooms in the meatballs. Once the mushrooms were picked out we enjoyed them and the sauce is very tasty and not overly sweet.

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
Very good moist fried chicken. I used chicken scallopinni so it was already pounded nicely thin. The only thing I would do next time is cut back on the flour mixture because it made way too much
