Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
Absolutely wonderful way of cooking turkey, so simple and the whole house smelled great. I had picked up a small 3 lb. breast on sale and found this recipe. Only thing missing was crisp skin but the turkey was moist and juicy. I followed other reviewers suggestions by rubbing the turkey under the skin and over with unsalted butter and then rubbing the onion soup mix in. Cooked on high for the first hour as recipe stated and then followed suggestions on allowing 1 hour per pound on low heat setting. No liquid is needed, the drippings from the turkey also made a tasty gravy.

Pork Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
Meant to take a pic of this but before I could grab the camera everyone had dug in LOL!!! I used a small pork tenderloin which I got on sale and had a handful of fresh mushrooms on hand so used those instead of canned. Excellent dish and the noodles cooked easily in it.

Fruity Pork Chops

Had a spare can of fruit cocktail on hand so thought I would give these a try to be different. Very tasty and moist. I also added a bit more orange zest.

Saucy Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
The taste of the oil from the sun dried tomatoes is way over powering in this, maybe blotting them with a paper towel might help get excess oil off. We also found the onions were just a big pile of mush also and had no taste.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2009
This was good but did few changes as past reviewers. I used leftover cooked turkey and added that to the veg (left out celery since we are not fans and used potato instead) and cooked all that in chicken broth. I drained the broth after that to use further in the recipe. Added a bit more on the seasonings and doubled the liquid since we had more than the amount of chicken called for. Turned out great.

Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2009
Only rated it 4/5 because it lacked just a bit on the flavor, but over all a nice cheesy recipe that turns out great. Next time will add garlic and italian sesoning while browning my ground beef. I also followed whoami's suggestions (Feb 23/09) about the layering technique. I also did not bother lining my pan with foil but I did spray with PAM and it came out great.

Cola Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
I seasoned these chops with a seasoning salt for more flavor and it worked out amazing. The chops turn out moist and delicious and you would never guess there was cola in this. Will be making this again.

Cheesy Chicken Broccoli Bake

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
Good as written except we noticed the carrots were still a bit too crunchy for our liking but the broccoli cooked fine. Worth making again, precooking the carrots a bit and maybe adding a bit more spices.

Rhubarb Pork Chop Bake

Reviewed: May 30, 2009
Excellent way to use rhubarb in a unique and delicious way!!!!!! The rhubarb and brown sugar carmalizes the bread cumbs nicely and stayed very moist in a smaller pan. It is a bit on the sweet side but you still get the tang from the rhubarb. This is my fav recipe to use rhubarb from my Mom's garden other than making pies. :) Thanks for posting.

Very filling dish. I omitted the canned mushrooms because I didn't have any but the vegetables more than made up for it. Instead of crushed cornflakes I used buttery style crushed crackers.

Apple Chicken Stew

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
I just threw everything in the slow cooker, no prebrowning chicken. I also used more apple cider as per other reviewers suggestions. The chicken comes out nice and tender but the vegetable were still not cooked through even after 9 1/2 hrs on low. :( Disappointing.
