Strawberry Spinach Salad I

I didnt reduce the sugar, but I did add some mandarin oranges to the mix. I think next time I will get baby spinach. This is a surprisingly good recipe

Honey Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
I agree with a number of other reviews on here that this was a great idea, not executed well. The flavoring is realy nice, and it does carmelize rather easily. However, the batter/breading on this is very messy and doesn't stay on well at all. I'd still like to find a really good honey fried chicken recipe.

Pomegranate Stew with Chicken (Khoresh Fesenjan)

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
I made this for the first time tonight. Neither my husband or I have had this before. It was really good. I really didn't change the recipe except to add some garlic. I served it with basmati rice and pita bread. I thought it was a bit sweet by my husband thought it was just right. It also came out a very dark purple almost black color, much different than the picture.

Whiskey Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2007
I agree with many other posters...this recipe has great potential. I did add onion and chopped pineapple along with minced garlic to the chicken as it cooked. I didn't have any bourbon whiskey so I used an Irish whiskey. After simmering for 20 minutes I also had to add cornstarch to thicken the sauce. This will definitely be made again and will experiment more with it.

Easy Yet Romantic Filet Mignon

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2007
I made these from a tenderloin that I had cut up. Other than omitting the shallots, I didn't change anything else. This recipe works really well with a good smoked bacon (applewood is my fav). Good job on this recipe!

Cheezy Tomato Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
This was a good recipe. I didn't have Monterey Jack cheese, so I used Colby Cheddar instead. I am not fond of tomatoes, but this was tasty and the flavors/textures complimented each other very well.

Stuffed Shells I

Reviewed: May 24, 2007
Great recipe. I also changed it a bit. Using half ricotta/cottage cheese and cut the recipe in half (still too much food). I even forgot to put the egg in, but it was still really good. My husband liked it alot.

My Kid's Favorite Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 4, 2007
This as many have said, was a great base recipe. I used two boneless thick cut chops and they turn out great. It is easy to adjust to your tastes, just by altering the beer or bbq sauce you use.

Kielbasa with Honey Mustard

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
I also took the idea to make this kielbasa with mushrooms and onions. I reduced the amount of ginger ale though. The only other suggestion I would make is that you make sure not to use a sweet honey mustard as it makes it all too sweet.

True Lancashire Hot Pot

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2007
This is a great recipe for leftover roast (beef or lamb). I pretty much followed the directions, except I didn't use any salt or pepper and didn't need it at all. Thanks for this recipe, I wind up with leftover roast that goes bad because it didn't get eaten....that won't be the case anymore.

Butter Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
This was pretty good, I agree, it doesn't need so much butter. Since I am not big on Nutmeg, I have made this with and without, I prefer it without. Otherwise this is a good recipe.

Beer 'n' Brat Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
I did not have carraway seeds, and I used Kielbasa instead. The flavor was OK, but the sausage added a very odd texture. If I make these again I won't be using any meat.

Glazed Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
I didn't change a thing for the recipe. I do recommend lining the pan with foil though, as it helps make clean up easier (also, clean the pan while it is still warm). My husband's response to these was to inform me that he felt it was his duty to make sure none of them were left "lying around".
