I am a professional Chef/Instructor with a degree in Culinary Arts.
I am married to the most wonderful man in the world ... we were married in June 2007 onboard a cruise ship docked in Manhattan. It was beautiful - our friends and family were there - and the food at the reception was incredible!!
People tell my husband that he's lucky to be married to a chef - he tells them he's lucky to be married to me, and I happen to be a chef.
And I just have to get this off my chest. I have an "allrecipes pet peeve" ... don't give a recipe five stars and then go on and on about how you didn't actually follow the recipe - you didn't make the original recipe if you substituted apple sauce for oil, used different flour, etc. UGH that bothers me!!!

My Gram used to make sure everyone's favorite was on the table, even if it meant making 3 main entrees and 10 side dishes. I really admired her for that because it showed the emotional connection that food has with people.
My cooking triumphs
I once served a homemade blueberry pie at a family get together and my brother proclaimed it was the best pie he'd ever had. That touched me.
My cooking tragedies
While a culinary student, a chef/instructor stated that my Hollandaise tasted like "frothy eggs" ... you can bet that I make the best Hollandaise sauce in the world now.
