Sinful Flourless Espresso Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
This is an excellent recipe. I made it for a potluck and everyone enjoyed it. Used a springform pan instead of cake pan as there was way to much batter for the cake pan. Topped with fresh strawberry sauce.

Coleslaw I

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
This is almost exactly what I was looking for. I followed the advice of others and cut the ingredients in half for a package of pre-cut cabbage, even doing this and using slightly less than 1/4 cup vinegar it was still a bit much for my tastes. Other than that it is a great recipe and really easy. I will definately do again, just with less vinegar!

Dirt Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
I made this for my step-sons 10th birthday party. As it is not really a cake I used a brownie mix for the base, so that it was more like a cake and baked as directed in an 15x10 pan, I then followed the recipe exactly but I did not layer the filling and cooking crumbs. I did not use gummy worms, I started to use them, but when I took one out to put it somewhere different and tasted it, it was disgusting with chocolate! There were only 10 people here, but the whole cake is gone!! Will definately make this again, it is perfect for a boy party, wspecially if you use "bugs".

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

This is my son's favorite desert, he always asks for it on special occaisions. I had lost my sisters recipe, this one is exactly like it. If you use strawberry whipped cream it is even better!!!!

Raspberry Chiffon Pie I

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2007
this did not set up for me. I followed the recipe exactly. I will try again, but next time I will let the egg yolk mixture get to the consistency of custard (as done in other chiffon recipes) before removing from heat and adding other ingredients. Will also strain the seeds from the raspberry.

Lemon Chiffon Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2007
I thought about only giving 4 stars, because making the custard was a bit of a pain...no double boiler, had to improvise.....it did not appear to be setting up for me, so I cheated and added a little cornstarch mixed into some juice to help it thicken. Worked great!! This is a great pie, and worth testing my patience! I will definately make again, especially in the summer! I followed the suggestions of "nanciejean" and used both lemon and orange juice....

Coconut Shrimp I

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2007
This has got to be the best shrimp that I have ever made!!! I will definately be making this a regular meal item at our house:-) I got pretty frustrated, using a medium size shrimp, after tasting this, I wish that I had been more patient. Will use larger shrimp from now on.

This is an excellent marinade! My husband loved it! I added a little red pepper to spice it up, but could still taste the other flavors. This is going to be the steak at my families summer get-together!!!

Lemon Poppy Seed Loaf

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2007
My husband and family really enjoyed this!! Even without the poppyseads. (where can I buy them???) I made this in mini-loaves (8) and baked them for 1/2 an hour. Will be making again as soon as strawberries are in season!

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2007
This is a great recipe,, it has an excellent flavor. The reason that I gave it a 4 is because when I attempted to brown the chicken some of the flour came off, and when I added it back into the sauce it made little doughy blobs. Nest time I will not flour the chicken pieces.

Filipino Lumpia

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2007
I had wanted to make these for a long time, but I thought that they would be really hard to make. Boy, was I wrong. They are really easy and they taste wonderful!! My family loves them. I have made them twice, the first time I used ground turkey, and the second I did not use any meat. They are great both ways.

Adobo Chicken with Ginger

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2007
This is the worst recipe that I have had the misfortune of trying. This chicken tasted like vinegar. My step-son gagged and the only reason that my husband and I ate any is because it is what I had made for our dinner.

Honey Ginger Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2007
This is an excellent recipe. I used the coconut milk suggestion, and as the sauce was a little thin I added a little cornstarch to thicken it. My husband loves this served with coconut rice. I was a bit sceptical and thought that the flavor combination would not be to my liking....I love it! can't wait to cook it again. Plan to include it in tbe menu for my family reunion!!!!
