Quinoa Black Bean Burgers

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2012
I made it as written and thought it was bland and bitter (and yes, I rinsed my quinoa well). No one in my family enjoyed these, I was sorry to have veered away from my regular black bean burger recipe.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2011
Tasty enough but I thought it turned out a LOT like tuna noodle casserole as far as the taste goes so I wasn't overly impressed. I followed the recipe and can't figure out why everyone else adds everything to the crock pot so early, the chicken does just fine with just the spices!

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
WOW! What a delish dish. This could easily be restaurant fare. I followed the recipe exactly, can't imagine the sauce being as tasty without the cream so I wouldn't skip it. My 15 month old gobbled this up too!

Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2008
Wow. I'd give this more stars if I could! I'm going to start doubling the loaves because we went through this bread so fast. Absolutely delicious. I made no changes to the original recipe and it was perfect.

Seafood Enchiladas

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
I was really hoping that this would be a 5 star recipe in my book as it sounded so tasty. It was simple to make but we thought it lacked any taste or flavor. I made the sauce exactly as directed and my 1/2 and 1/2 still curled, leaving a weird texture. Leftovers were soggy and the immense amount of butter in the sauce gave each bite a slick feel. Sorry, but I wouldn't make this again.

Souvlaki

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
I lived in Greece for awhile and have to say, this recipe brought back some wonderful memories! If I've got them, I throw some cherry tomatoes on the skewer just for another added taste (not as authentic but tasty all the same). I serve the souvlaki in a pita with homemade tzitziki sauce and it's delightful! Have served this to company and gotten rave reviews!

Peppermint Patties

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
These were so tasty! I made them just bigger than quarters - which means I had over 100 of them. The size worked well because they didn't fall apart in the chocolate since they fit on the fork. To anyone who hasn't ever dipped things in chocolate, might I suggest reading up on it first. I did not know that a single drop of water could ruin the melted choclate and worse, I added some butter to get the hardened chocolate back to a normal consistency. I had no clue why my patties weren't hardening after being dipped. They had to stay in the freezer until we ate them up!

Delicious! I followed the recipe exactly but next time I'm going to add more cranberries. Won raves from friends and family who were all so impressed!

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
Enjoyed this recipe. I only made two chicken breasts but still made the full amount of sauce and enjoyed that because it was so tasty! I added extra balsamic because we're huge fans of it.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
A huge hit at my holiday party! They were sooo soft and chewy the evening that they came out of the oven. The next day they were dry and crisp (I had them in an airtight container at room temp). I popped them into the freezer for a week before the party in zip lock bags and once they were thawed, they were back to being chewy. Good thing, because I was disappointed at the dryness on the second day. Now I know how to cure it! Overall a very tasty cookie that I will be making many more of! Oh, and I got between 70 and 80 2 inch cookies out of this, without doubling it....

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2007
Enjoyed this curry a lot! Next time I'll skip the can of tomato sauce, it made the dish too tomato-y for us. Great taste and it made a lot! The only problem is that I cannot get the smell out of my house, no matter how many tricks I try!

Pasta Carcione

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
So simple yet delicious! I have made so many recipes with pasta, tomatoes, and goat cheese, but adding the spinach really made this one different. Love it and will make it on a regular basis because it was so easy. I should note though - I only added half of a 5oz bag of fresh baby spinach and I thought it was plenty. I see some other reviewers have substituted feta, but I think the goat cheese is better in this.

Chickpea Curry

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
I made this recipe exactly as written minus the cilantro and we just loved it! I served it over plain rice because that's all I had, but I'll try another variety next time. I need fresher spices to give this more taste, and will buy some now that I found a good recipe to use them in!!

Twelve Minute Pasta Toss

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2007
Not my favorite dish, I don't think I'd make this again. It was just too plain for us, and I had to add red sauce from a jar just to keep it from drying out by the time it got to the plate.

Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
Wow, I am never buying this in the store again!! I loved it and my company raved about it. I could only find raspberry balsamic vinegar so it's a darker dressing but still oh-so-tasty. I used just a hair under what the recipe called for with the sugar and I thought it was perfect.

Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2007
Delicious! I made it exactly as written and it turned out just right (not too liquidy at all). I was a bit worried that there wasn't enough filling, but once it was done it was perfect! I'm making it again for company this weekend!

Feta Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2007
My chicken came out dry, despite the egg and a drizzle of olive oil half way through the baking time. While I was adding the feta, I saw a similar recipe on the lid that called for a squirt of lemon juice and I thought that added a nice flavor.
