About this Cook
I am a single interior designer who loves to cook a lot when I have the time. I used to cook more when I was younger. I have lived in DC most of my life; I briefly live in Massachusetts while attending college. I love to cook foods that are tasty and healthy.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are gourmet seafood dishes, casseroles, and cajun dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad was from New Iberia, LA and I was raised on gumbo, creole shrimp, jambalaya, red beans and rice etc. Every Christmas Eve we would gather at my grandmother's house for gumbo. Now I try to prepare one creole dish for Thanksgiving or Christmas to keep the tradition going.
My cooking triumphs
Some of my cooking triumphs have been salmon stuffed with crab imperial, jambalaya, perfectly seasoned pork roast, and vegetable lasagna.
My cooking tragedies
Some of my cooking tragedies include fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and scones.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole
I did not tell anyone that I was bringing a green bean casserole to Easter dinner for fear of objections. However, after everyone tasted this recipe, all fear was gone. This is the best green bean casserole that I have ever tasted. Make it exactly like the recipe. It's terrific!

Sauced Fish
This was a very easy to make delicious meal. I seasoned the fish with salt and pepper before I poured the sauce on top. I will definitely make this dish again.
