Indian Saffron Rice
Made with brown rice and chicken broth instead of water. Very yummy!

Aunt Anne's Coffee Cake
A very yummy, simple coffee cake. I made it as directed, but used a 8x8 pan instead so that it would come out thicker. Just the right amount of topping. Baked for more like 40 minutes since it was so thick.

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup
Excellent! I used sweet onions fresh from our garden and a really good beef boullion for the broth. I split french rolls on top of each bowl and generously topped with cheese and then broiled to melt and brown. My husband and I really liked it, but the kids weren't impressed since onion soup (even at its best, which this is) isn't pretty to look at.
