Green Bean Casserole I

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
Has the potential to be very good, but much too sweet for my taste. I'll try it again, this time without sugar.

Pumpkin Cheesecake II

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
If I could give it more stars, I would. I didn't use pecans because I don't like them. I even messed up the mixing of the pumpkin pie filling with the cheesecake (I just spread the pumpkin pie mix on top of the other!) and this cheesecake was absolutely delicious. The BEST cheesecake I've ever had. Definitely a keeper (I've already been asked to make this for two separate Christmas parties!)

School Lunchroom Cafeteria Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
Oh my! This takes me back to my school days for sure! As other reviewers have said, sure, these rolls could stand to have a little more salt. But things like that can be adjusted. The texture, fluffiness, and density of these rolls are what make this recipe 5 stars. Just perfect, and will absolutely be my go-to recipe from now on. Oh, and don't be afraid of the dough - it gets really sticky!

Brown Sugar Cookies II

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
This recipe isn't exactly what I expected...I expected something darker and richer. But I was pleasantly surprised! This is exactly what it says: a sugar cookie. And by far the most delicious sugar cookie I have ever attempted to make. The dough was VERY soft, so I highly recommend chilling it first unless you are extra patient. Absolutely delicious and I will be making more soon!

Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
Oh my goodness. This was absolutely the most delicious cobbler/pie I have ever eaten, and I don't care much for peaches. I even used peaches that weren't quite ripe enough and it still turned out divine. If it is too runny, simply add a little more cornstarch. Mine was perfect. I also used a crumb topping on top and made it in an 8x8 baking dish. Absolutely fabulous.

Strawberry Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
Yum! Easy and delicious! I followed the recipe as it was written, but I used frozen strawberries (all I had)--and it was still very good! I can only imagine how it would taste using fresh strawberries. Definitely a keeper.

Belle's Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
These turned out AWFUL for me. I followed the recipe to a T, and everything was much to dry. The rolls were very hard and did not brown properly (they looked a lot like biscuits). I don't know what I did wrong, but usually breads are not a problem for me. These were. I wish I knew the secret all the 5-star reviewers had to make these mildly edible.

Sauerkraut Pork Supper

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
This was okay...when I first tasted it I did not like the flavors at all, but it is one of those dishes that tends to grow on you as you keep eating it. My husband did not care for this, and as I only mildly enjoyed it, I will probably not make this again. Thanks, anyway!

Brownie Chocolate Chip Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
Well, this was good - but not what I expected. It was REALLY sweet, and definitely didn't need the extra chocolate chips in the cheesecake batter - next time I will probably leave them out. I'm still undecided as to whether the brownie and cheesecake combination worked for me...I didn't love it, but I did like it. I will probably make this again, but alter it from the original recipe.

Elaine's Sweet and Tangy Loose Beef BBQ

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
I scaled this recipe down for my 2.5 lb roast...I have to say at first I was terribly disappointed because, like many others have said, it took at least 4 hours for even my small roast to become somewhat tender. But, I didn't give up on it - I just chunked the meat into smaller pieces and added the rest of the ingredients and let it cook on low for about 5 more hours...and it turned out really tender. Personally, I like a more intense flavor for my BBQ, so I did end up adding some bottled barbeque sauce after I first tasted it, but this is a very good starter recipe.

Tzatziki Sauce II

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
This recipe is GREAT! There is nothing more refreshing on a hot summer day than the taste of this cool cucumber sauce! The flavors blend perfectly together - I was skeptical about the mint at first, but it really adds a little something that makes this Tzatziki stand out above the others! Excellent recipe!
