Spanish Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
What a wonderful recipe. The rice was to die for. I made this ahead of time then placed it in the oven when my husband came home. Needs to be cooked longer if you do this.

Rosemary Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2006
I have made this turkey 4 years in a row. My husband and I only made a few changes. First, we cover for 2 hours then cook uncovered the last 2. We also double the ingredients and place under the skin, on top and in the cavity. This adds a nice rosemary flavor to the stuffing.

Beer Brisket

Reviewed: May 1, 2007
I tried this recipe twice and both times I finished with the most tender brisket I have ever had. I also learned that the type of beer you use effects the outcome. I preferred malt beer. I think that others who did not like this recipe do not understand that this recipe is supposed to enhance the taste of the meat, not cover it up.

Pan-Fried Asparagus

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
Let me start by saying that I do not like asparagus. I had some in the fridge that was going bad, so I gave this recipe a try. I LOVED IT! Everyone ate it up and it was requested the next night. The only thing I did different was using tripple the garlic. Oh, I also used Kosher Salt (not sure if it is the same as course salt). I thought it might be too salty, but it wasn't.

Easy Deviled Chicken

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
This recipe did not sound too appealing, but I was wrong. I used 3 tbs dijan and bread crumbs and cooked for 35 mins. The whole family wanted seconds.

Cherry Pie II

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
Finally, the perfect cherry pie! I made 2 for Father's Day. Based on previous reviews I added 1/4 cup of flour(instead of 3 tbs) to one pie and 4 tbs corn starch added to the 2nd pie. We all liked the pie with extra flour better.

Irene's Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2008
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this recipe. I was looking for a sauce that was not too sweet and I found it. As did many others, I left out the liquid smoke and it still turned out wonderful

Grilled Zucchini II

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
This was the worst, but probably only because of my choice of salad dressing (hence the 3 stars). I usually use Paul Newman's Italian Dressing but I thought I might try his Lite dressing. Big mistake. We could only taste the vinegar. Will try again with the non-lite dressing.

Jackie's Special Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2008
I am glad I now have another recipe for my panko bread crumbs! This was delicious and moist. I did substitute fresh onions and garlic for the powders.

Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I used chicken strips instead of chicken breasts and skewered them before grilling. I made four lbs. of this for a party and they disappeared in a matter of minutes. Tastes like the skewers I eat at my favorite Chinese restaurant.

Cheese-Stuffed Flank Steak

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
I liked the meat and I liked the stuffing but I did not like the two together. Next time I will marinade the meat in something different and keep the stuffing.

Lime Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2008
These were excellent! I used sriracha sauce and Tony Chachers seasoning in the mayo sauce. I also added cilantro and it gave the tacos a clean, fresh taste (in spite of the garlic).

Garlic Lime Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp

Reviewed: May 9, 2009
We have made these twice. Easy to make and everyone loved them. I used the George Foreman grill and it only took a few minutes. We also made a lime butter to go with the shrimp because I overcooked them the first time. Even overcooked these were eaten up.

Easy to make and it has a nice flavor. Made this as is once and then another time I ran out of oil and used butter instead-it was still delicious.

Italian Style Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
I like this recipe better with Italian bread crumbs. Too much crackery taste, or maybe not enough seasoning.
