Chicken With Mushrooms

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2006
I was dissapointed with this. I took all the advice of other reviewers and did all the extra steps and it still was bland and boring. My boyfriend didn't even finish his portion, which has never, ever happened with anything I've cooked. :-(

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
I didn't think I'd find a better recipe than the honey dijon with pecan salmon I love, but this one is amazing! It's very flavorful and the different ingredients really mesh well! I have to admit I was surprised, but I think this might be my new favorite. It was a lot like the $42 salmon I got at my fancy birthday dinner! I wrapped it in tinfoil and cooked for about 25 mins.

Portobello Penne Pasta Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2006
5 stars for something different and interesting that my boyfriend will eat! I used low fat mozzerella and it was delicious. I am going to double the spinach next time too. Instead of dried basil I used pesto. Mmmm!

Citrus Swordfish With Citrus Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2006
I used orange roughy and it turned out bad. Very fishy... the salsa was good, but my boyfriend wouldn't eat it, and he usually eats anything.

Spinach-Stuffed Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2006
This was good and healthy. I wanted a stuffed salmon without cheese and this fit the bill perfectly. I wrapped mine in foil and grilled them.

Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2006
This tastes good, but is just too salty. I used low sodium soy sauce, and salt was still the predominant taste. You should like ginger for this recipe. It smells wonderful cooking, almost like baking bread. And it comes out tender.

Sweet and Spicy Green Beans

These were good and something different. The sauce is a little runny though.

This is awesome and delicious. A man pleaser, for sure. I would call it Mexican Lasagna though!

Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2006
This was great! I was skeptical of all the ingredients and was a little worried that it would taste like BBQ sauce, but it was just delicious. I only had about 15 minutes to marinate and it still turned out awesome, not overpowering, just like a steak should taste! Thanks!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2006
This is very good, but it absolutely NEEDS more salt! I thought it was a little bland, then I added a lot of salt and it was awesome!! Also, I would try half and half - the heavy cream is not at all subtle and the recipe calls for a lot of it. However, with about triple the salt it would be great!

Sweet and Tart Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2006
Woah! First of all, I didn't think this would work at all. Second, I don't usually really like strawberries because they are a little too tart for me. THIS WAS AWESOME. The perfect sweetness and tenderness. Really amazing, you have got to try it!

Bourbon Pecan Chicken

Reviewed: May 31, 2006
I am giving this four stars because I COULD NOT get the pecan/butter mixture to stick to the chicken. Then it fell off and it also burned during cooking. The flavor is FANTASTIC and I am going to make again, but this time I will NOT mix butter into pecan and breadcrumbs and coat chicken with egg then roll in mixture. Also, I will fry both sides and then bake until done. Very tasty sauce! Mmmmm! UPDATED: I changed to five stars with this version. Do not add butter to pecan mixture, keep dry. Dip chicken in egg and then roll in pecan mixture, will stick nicely. Then bake in glass dish and pour sauce over. Very tasty and a little healthier!!

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: May 19, 2006
First off, I live in San Diego, and I have fish tacos pretty regularly, so I know what they are supposed to taste like here. THESE ARE AWESOME!! A great comparison. I traded the yogurt for sour cream and the oregano for cilantro. Soooo good. I also threw some guacamole on top. Muy Bien!

Spinach Lasagna III

Reviewed: May 16, 2006
This is awesome. I halved the recipe and made it in a small casserole dish. I used DOUBLE the spinach and I would use TRIPLE next time. I think this would change it from "Lasagna with Spinach" to "SPINACH Lasagna". I added a carrot to the mushrooms for good measure, and used about double the garlic. Yum Yum Yum, tastes every bit as good as any meat lasagna. I used about 3/4 of a large jar of sauce and it came out perfect - not runny and not dry! :-)

Easy Hawaiian Chicken Packets

Reviewed: May 14, 2006
Very fast, EASY, and quick cleanup! You must have rice, so delicious to pour the sauce over. I think it really matters what kind of teriyaki sauce you get, I got a kind of cheap one and I think it would have been better with a nicer one. All in all, quick, healthy, delicious!

FAST, EASY, DELICIOUS! I served it over a bed of linguini... tasted just like "Angel Shrimp" I had a few weeks ago at very fancy steakhouse, in fact, I liked it better. :-)
