Bake Sale Lemon Bars
I don't know what went wrong but the recipe was a big FAIL for me. First off there isn't enough lemon mix for the size of pan to be used. I doubled the recipe and it still only made a thin layer. Second, the cooking times are way off. At the recommended cooking times my base was overdone and my lemon section was undercooked - even taking into consideration an altered time as it was doubled. Third, 1/4 cup isn't enough lemon. Sad to see all of my ingredients go to waste.

Chocolate Trifle
This dish was fantastic - a huge hit at our party, we had 15 people so it's a good dessert to make for a crowd. I did have some problems - my pudding didn't set (waited 20 mins) and only set when it was put together and left in the fridge for a few hours....not a big deal except I didn't get the distict layers of brownie, whip cream and pudding - the pudding sunk into the brownie. Also I decided to use real whip cream to cut the sweetness and only added a little of real vanilla while whipping. For a crowd of 15 I doubled the recipe - such a GREAT dessert!! UPDATE - The second time I made it I used even more brownie and let the pudding set longer before assembling the dish....so yummy!!!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
Update! I didn't want to give up on this recipes because the reviews were so good, so I kept at it. Finally it turned out, I stopped using the lattice crust and that helped - for some reason the apples were drying out but not cooking. I didn't add as much water as the recipe called for and I added lots of apple pie spice. This recipe really is a keeper, if it doesn't work the first time keep trying!
