Mexican Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2014
I made this exactly according to the recipe. Tried eating it warm and cold. It was ok but not something I'll be making routinely. The better reviews probably add sour cream or cheese or something extra.

Espinacas con Garbanzos (Spinach with Garbanzo Beans)

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2013
Made recipe exactly per directions except for substituting minced garlic for garlic cloves (based on what I had in stock) and using fresh spinach instead of frozen (based on reviews). Great recipe - very tasty, healthy, and easy to make. Thanks!

Zucchini and Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2013
As is, the recipe was pretty bland. Most of the good reviews add a lot to it. The variation I like is to use canola oil spray, saute 1/4 cup of chopped zucchini and 1/4 cup of chopped onion, then mix 2 eggs and 1/4 cup soy milk with salt and pepper, pour the eggs over the onion and zucchini, and then top with two tablespoons of salsa.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
This was my first time trying quinoa. I doubled the recipe and packed it cold for lunch as a main dish. The only changes I made were to leave out the cayenne pepper and cilantro, simply because I did not have them on hand. Thanks for the great recipe - I'll be making this again!

Quick Brownbag Burritos

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
Quick, easy, and healthy = perfect recipe! I have been eating these cold for lunch and they are great. I used medium salsa and made two minor changes (reduced cumin to 2 tsp and used cheddar cheese). This made six burritos for me. Thanks!

Elephant Ears

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
This is a five star recipe if you follow these instructions: You only melt 1/4 cup of butter. Then put in 3 TB of that butter with the dough, leaving 1 TB to brush on the dough later. Also, I always mix the 3 TB sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon together before sprinkling it on the dough. Finally, after you have patted the elephant ears down and put them on the cookie sheet, the recipe says to sprinkle them with more sugar. So if you follow these instructions, you will get nice elephant ears in 8-10 minutes. These are a family favorite and everyone loves them (if you use the correct amount of butter!!!).

Mushroom Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
These were ok I guess. It basically just tastes like mushroom as the recipe is written, and I suspect the better reviews just added a lot of other stuff to make it more tasty. I followed the recipe exactly except I used hot sauce instead of oyster sauce, and I also substituted oats for bread and added an extra egg in an attempt to hold it together, which didn't work. I think it needs some more spices. Thanks anyway but I won't be trying this again.

Vegan Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
These pancakes are really easy to make and taste really good. I followed other reviewers' advice and used 1.5 tsp cinnamon with the dry ingredients and 1 tsp of vanilla with the wet ingredients, and the pancakes turned out great. I got six fairly large pancakes - very soft and fluffy. Thanks for the recipe! P.S. I am not a vegan.

Quick and Easy Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2011
The only changes I made were to substitute 1 cup salsa for the tomatoes, just use one onion instead of two, and omit the red pepper flakes. This is a great recipe - not bland at all. Best of all, it is very easy and quick to prepare. Thanks!

Zucchini Quiche

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
I made this recipe exactly as stated except for using canola oil instead of vegetable oil and canola oil cooking spray instead of grease, and it was excellent! I have been off of allrecipes for awhile because a lot of the food is too fatty for me, and this was a nice moderate yet filling (main, not side) dish for me. Thanks!

Vegetable Rice Medley

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
As is, this receipe is terribly bland. I added seasonings, butter, and cheddar cheese to make it edible; otherwise, we would have never eaten this.

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
This recipe was amazing - easy to make but still great taste. This is the best pumpkin bread recipe on this website. I originally made this to have a healthier evening snack at night, but I ended up packing it for lunch and having some for dinner also! My only change to the recipe was to use canola oil. Thanks for this great recipe!!!

Simple Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
I made this a couple of times, and thought it was ok myself, but both times it was tough to get anyone else to eat it. I followed the recipe exactly as written, and honestly it was hard to taste anything other than spinach. I would have rather had Stouffers - better taste and less work. Thanks anyway.

Bacon Cheeseburger Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
This is a very quick and easy recipe that we enjoy - one of the best I have found on this site. I have made this recipe probably 10 times in the last month - it is very addicting! I follow the recipe exactly (except I use six slices of turkey bacon) and it always turns out great. The prominent tastes are bacon and barbeque sauce (I followed the advice of a previous reviewer and left the bacon in pretty big chunks. I also chopped up the pickle into specks, so we really couldn't taste them.) Thanks for a great, easy recipe.

Almost Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
This is a solid four-star recipe. It is not "the best" but it is definitely not bland either. The only change I made was to add a little extra Italian seasoning and pepper. I have made this a few times, and it always goes fast. Plus it is very easy to make. Thanks!

This is a solid four-star recipe. It is not "the best" (5 star), but it is not bland either. I followed the recipe exactly except for adding more pepper and Italian seasoning. Thanks for the recipe. I'll be making this again.

Great recipe. I made it exactly as written, except with half of the french fried onions. It is very simple, easy, and quick -- thanks!!! I will be making this a lot.

This is a great recipe. I followed it exactly and it was very EASY to make and tasted great. You don't need to bother with spinach or other seasonings because it tastes good just as written. I am a beginning cook and I appreciated the straightforward, easy-to-follow directions, as well as the great dish. Thanks!!

Creamy Vegetable Medley

I made this recipe EXACTLY according to the directions, and it is absolutely awesome. It is, most importantly, extremely easy/fast to make (no chopping up vegetables) and tastes great. This is likely to join our regular rotation. Thanks!

Pineapple Smoothies

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2007
Great simple recipe. I just used a cup of milk instead of buttermilk and it was still fine -- very pineapple-y, as expected. Thanks :)
