Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2004
I must have done something wrong...I probably rolled it too thick and didn't bake long enough. I don't know if that would make a difference in the dryness of this crust. I like a crust to melt in my mouth, instead of feel like a frozen pie crust. I will be trying it again to see what gives.

Adam's Dirt Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2004
well as you can imagine I was a little worried to try these. With all the mixed feedback I decided to give it a go anyway. I started off with the original recipe. But I did forget about it during the chilling part so it got chilled for 12hrs lol! So that in mind I made them the size they're suppose to be and baked @ 375 (even though I don't like baking over 350) and while half did flatten some, the other half (on the same sheet) did not. I found mine to be chewy and not crunchy. When it comes to taste I think it is a little bland. But I'm not done with this recipe I will be trying it again!

I really like this recipe. I also like to add a little sugar because my husband likes it that way.

Kay's Shortbread

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2004
I came on here to find a shortbread recipe because my mother told me to take shortbread dough, make two balls, wrap & freeze it, and then take 1/2 grate it, sprinkle on your baking dish, lightly spoon your favorite jelly on it, take the other 1/2 and grate that on top. Bake @ 350 for 20-25 minutes

Mandarin Orange Cake I

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2003
~Wow this is an excellent cake! I did a couple things different, instead of adding the syrup/juice from the can of mandarins I substituted orange juice with a tsp of orange peel. I think it was about 1/2C OJ. ~I was so afraid this recipe would be so incredibly moist it would fall apart but it didn't. ~I liked the cake the best and really wanted something just orange. But with all the reviews about the frosting I had to make it. If I were serving it to guests I would add it! But I just wanted orange cake. YUM! ~Will be staying in my recipe box!

Mother's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2003
First off I read the reviews and don't know what ppl are talking about cream, I don't see cream in this recipe at all. This is by far the best banana bread I have made. It has become my #1 recipe! Moist but not heavy. Great flavor!

Cranberry Nut Bread I

I want to say I did something wrong. It came out dry, heavy, and not sweet enough. I will have to try again. Only one other person said this about this loaf.

Peanutbutteriest Cookies Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2003
I loved this recipe! If you like a noncakey cookie this is the one! I didn't add all that sugar though, the grainy responses scared me so I only added 1C sugar. It didn't fall apart on me like some responses said. Just leave on the sheet until they are COMPLETELY cooled. YUM! Great with a big glass of milk!

Delightful Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2003
A very different spin on the old stand by carrot cake. Nice touch with the pineapple! UPDATE: I took this recipe and minus the pineapple, nuts, raisins. Cut it by a serving of 18 and put in a jelly roll pan. Made a carrot cake roll with my fav cream cheese frostings.

Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2003
I'm always on the lookout for a better recipe then I have already. I like this recipe, it was easy and tasty. I got one large loaf out of it because I wasn't sharing lol. I would say it was just a little bit dry. Definetly NOT heavy like the last loaf I tried! I didn't think the last loaf I made was heavy till I tried this one! I added a touch of cinnamon and 2T vanilla. I also added a little oatmeal on top because I like the way it looks. A+

Apple Chocolate Chip Dessert Pizza

I thought this recipe was horrible! The sour cream/cream cheese mixture was very watery. I would think it should be thick. I won't make this again and it definately will not be staying in my recipe box!

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake V

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2003
this is a great recipe, I have never had a pineapple cake turn out! I did make some changes: I put this cake in a 9X13 instead of 2 pans. I was worried about it not coming out right because that is my luck! lol I also didn't have crushed pineapple I just used the slices and made a one layer instead of two. Loved the coconut and flavor with this cake. It came out perfect!
