Angela's Awesome Enchiladas

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2014
I will not make again. I did not add any additional salt and this was salty enough!!! The chicken filling was promising but it ended up a soggy mess!! And I didnt even use all the sour cream/soup sauce!!

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2014
I did as recipe stated except I used butter instead of margarine and luckily did not use muffin tins. I just baked in a baking sheet with high sides. The flavor ended up being good, my kids loved it. But the dough was VERY sticky! It ended up only making 8 decent size rolls. I think next time I will use more butter and spread on the dough then sprinkle the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture on it seperately. Then after its rolled up brush with more butter and brown sugar/cinnamon mixture on the outside the dough just seemed bland on the bare parts. I fixed that with some cream cheese frosting though.

Garlic-Lemon Double Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2012
I made this on Friday night for my daughter that came home from college for Thanksgiving. I made it with linguine and roasted asapargus. I did double the sauce and the extra sauce after chicken was done cooking was used to pour over the linguine, with chunks of breadcrumbs and all. I personally did not like the presenation of that (MY FAULT) But EVERYONE LOVED the flavor it gave the pasta. I added bacon and fresh basil as well. They said it tasted like it came from a gourmet restaurant but better!!

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2012
I have made this over and over again. I have made it exactly as written and have made slight changes. The only thing I did was I used EVOO instead of vegetable oil. And I HAVE to at least quadruple the sauce. MY KIDS DRINK THE SAUCE!! I do usually add extra lemon juice. If I am making extra sauce I dont use as much EVOO though. But every thing else gets doubled (or quadrupled) Thanks for the recipe!!

Chris' Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2012
Wow! I made pretty much as written except I didnt have a can of tomato sauce as I thought I did... So I used up some fresh tomatoes and used a little extra tomato paste. And I used Pepsi instead of Coke. I did half the recipe as it was only myself my 14 and 3 yo boys. But the picky 3 yo ate his whole bowl!!Thats an accomplishment! And my 14 yo gave it 5 stars. I was confused on the "yellow sport pepper sauce" Did that mean hot sauce?? I could NOT find yellow pepper hot sauce anywhere. SO I used the vinegar from a bottle of little hot yellow peppers. Anyway, given my changes I made out of necessity I dont think they affected the taste at all. But I will be making again and will make exactly the same maybe this time using the Texas Petes actual hot sauce although it is not yellow...

Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
I will try this again but without the brown sugar and use a lot more seasonings...The carrots give it all the sweetness a "swiss steak" should have.

Blackened Tilapia with Secret Hobo Spices

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2011
Perfectly seasoned. I did not have kosher salt so I used less regular salt. Spicy or HOT??? I guess my definition of spicy and hot are different. This was spicy because "spices" were used but it was definitely NOT hot!! My 16 and 13 yo ate 2 fillets!!! lol !!! There wasnt any "pan juices" to pour off though. But it was great.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
Maybe I used the wrong kind of beer but it came out very bitter!! I tried everything to save the sauce but nothing worked... No one wanted the au jus. The meat was ok on bread with ketchup or A1 sauce. I did use a beer called Torpedo... thats all I had I didnt have the "normal" beers. Coors or Budweiser. Maybe that was the problem, but it didnt specify what kind of beer to use...

Chili Sauce Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2010
I read the reviews AFTER I bought the Heinz chili sauce... someone had said that was not great. So I added about 2 tbs Sriacha (sp) hotsauce and it came out really good. A little too hot for my 1 yo but everyone else said they would be asking for it again. So the 2 stars would have been if I did not add that additional hotsauce.

Bermuda Fish Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
LOVED it!! I did add more spices though: cayenne, nutmeg, tumeric, cumin, dash cinnamon, ginger and coriander. This was I think what Crogirl had put in her review. Sorry, I know its not fair when people give a rating and they dont even make it like recipe states but I just didnt think there would have been much flavor, not even salt was listed! I just couldnt pass this up and NOT make this. SORRY!

High Altitude Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
I am at about 5700 ft here and I have never had an issue with the boxed brownies I usually make but I thought I'd try this recipe and see if there was something to it... I think they came out too "mushy". I did use a glass pan so I dont know if that matters? The taste overall was really good. They were chocolatey and everyone LOVED them. They didnt even last the night. I guess it just depends on what kind of brownie you are expecting. I wanted to frost them and put the nuts on top of the frosting but they were too soft. So the only thing I didnt do was use the nuts. I have been demanded to make these again though!!!

Pot Roast Caribe

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
I used a little less than 3 lbs of meat and there are plenty of leftovers. I had to feed 3 adults, 2 teens and 2 toddlers. We did eat with rice though. I made exactly as written but didnt seem like there was enough liquid so I added 1/3 cup water and it still didnt make much sauce...might be because I had to cook for longer than 8 hours...?? darn job...lol. Anyway everyone ate it but not too excited about it. I thought it was good and had seconds. I will try again with my own twist next time.

Southern Yank Pulled Pork BBQ

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
I made this yesterday exactly as written. Smelled really good. Had some rolls to make like bbq sandwiches. It didnt come out as thick as I thought it would. Maybe next time I will reserve some of the bbq sauce or not add the water. But overall, it was a really good flavor. We had lots left cuz I made a 5lb roast for 3 of us. So we will be eating it again tonight. Just trying to figure what to eat it with...

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
Was almost elegant but so simple! The only thing is I think I will use chicken breasts next time. I also made some corn on the cob for a side veggie. Kids, DH and brother all liked it. I brought the leftovers for lunch but think I would have preferred those chicken breasts instead. But thanks for the easy dinner recipe!
