About this Cook
im 25 y/o with 2 children. My daughter is 6 and she is a very picky eater! My son is 2mo so he really has no choice!!! I used to just make microwave dinners or hamburger helper type stuff, the only thing i would really cook was an egg, but now that I am home with the baby, i have more time to cook and practice cooking "normal dinners" like what I grew up on. Plus most of the time it cost way less to cook yourself rather than buy prepared food!! hopefully i can come up with some good ideas for dinners when i go back to work f/t because i will be super busy but I do NOT want to return back to microwave land!!!
My favorite things to cook
rice...EASY, MY FAV FOOD, AND U CAN SERVE JUST ABOUT ANYTHING OVER IT! I also love to cook pork chops and get really creative w/seasonings and things like that. Spaghetti is another fav b/c its super easy and there are endless possibilities w/it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love this cake my gmom makes. I have to ask her what it is! I love our Thanksgiving dinner and thats about it on traditions!
My cooking triumphs
the dinner i made last night! Skillet Pork Chops from this website, Stuffed Peppers from this site and all of my creative and good tasting dishes!
My cooking tragedies
Asking my husb to prepare the dinner for me so that I could just pop it in the over when I got home from work... he misread the directions and the chicken was raw..GROSS. i ended up recooking the chicken and rice mixture in a skillet til it was done, but i was so grossed out i couldnt eat it!

One Skillet Pork Supper
mmmm. i actually did not think i would like this but it was delicious & the whole fam enjoyed. i scaled the recipe to 7 servings b/c i had 7 thin pork chops. and after reading other reviews 4 this, i made a few changes... i used about a 1/2 cup water, i cut the pork chops up into about 6 pieces per chop, when i was cooking the chops i added ALOT of pepper, salt, garlic powder & about 1tbsp of itl.breadcrumbs. after i drained the fat off, i added the rest of the ingredients as directed with the exception of using about two handfuls of baby carrots instead of reg ones and added a dash of hot sauce. i also used some leftover tomato sauce to mix w/the soup. when there were about 2min left, i added some more breadcrumbs salt, pep & garlic powder. i usually am really light w/salt but this needed the flavor. i also wanted to throw in an onion but i didnt have one on hand. the picture submitted up top is from my dinner last night. i will make this again. Remember, i scaled mine to 7servings..
