Cookies are my top favorite thing to make. But I love experimenting with pastas and soups, too!
My favorite family cooking traditions
When my middle daughter was a baby, my husband used to "fly" her around the house in his arms and say, "Super Baby!" Her older sister, then 2, laughed and giggled when she saw this and followed them around the house calling, "Soupy Baby!" Ever since, we've always celebrated my daughter's birthday with a soup bar. I make several varieties of soup; family members bring bread or salad to share. It's a wonderful tradition for our family.
My cooking triumphs
When I finally mastered a chocolate cream pie--with homemade pie crust and filling, of course.
My cooking tragedies
My children consider me their hero when I make coffee cake. Except for the time I substituted cornstarch for the baking powder! They did manage to salvage the crunchy cinnamon topping, though :)

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo
Delicious! Omitted the parsley because I didn't have any and used frozen shrimp. Other than that, left the recipe as-is. Makes a lot and I can't wait for the leftovers tomorrow!

Tilapia Scaloppine
Delicious. Served it over angel hair pasta and subbed marinated artichoke hearts for the capers. I did saute the mushrooms with the garlic, though.

Baked Salmon Fillets Dijon
Super yummy! We accidentally made way more topping that the recipe called for--maybe that's because we added some shredded parmesan. We didn't use an italian herbs--but that didn't hurt the recipe at all! Served it with a squeeze of fresh lemon--will definitely make this again!
