Creamy Homestyle Turnips

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2013
This is my first time eating a turnip in my whole life and I absolutely love this recipe! I'm trying to expand my vegetable horizon and I've always been curious about turnips. Try this! I soaked the cubed turnips in milk first, as I read somewhere that it makes the turnips less bitter. There was absolutely no bitterness! I didn't have parsley so I added some dried cilantro flakes (like another reviewer) and some dried chives. DELICIOUS! I will eat this all the time!

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: May 9, 2013
I really, really liked this. I used a 2 1/2 pound pork roast that I sprinkled with salt/pepper and browned on all sides. I didn't have red wine vinegar, so I used white vinegar, but only two tablespoons. I don't eat sugar, so I used Splenda instead and replaced half the ketchup with sriracha hot sauce (I love spicy). Halfway through cooking time, I added four cups of shredded cabbage. It's was my whole dinner with a side salad. Pork fell apart. I will definitely make this again, but add a little less Splenda...it's my fault I added too much. I'm sure next time it will be five stars! Wonderful...thanks for sharing :)

Red and Sweet Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2008
Oh my God! This is so good. I made 6X the recipe for a very large party and plan to serve it tomorrow. Of course, I had to have a nibble first. Delicious. I followed the recipe exactly, but added just a little white sugar to the vinegar mixture. Unbelievable! Thanks for sharing such an amazing recipe. This is a keeper and highly recommended!

Mint Tea Punch

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
Made this tea punch for a baby shower today and it was a huge hit! I had so many people try to guess what was in in and ask me for the recipe. Like many other reviewers, I didn't put as much sugar as the recipe called for - I think I put about 1/2 to 3/4 cup, instead of a whole cup. It was ever so slightly sweet, but just enough. I love this and will definitely make it again! Thanks for the recipe!

Sun-Dried Tomato Cheesecake Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
The flavor was awesome, but very, very rich. I made a test batch before I decided to make it for an event. It was a small pan (8x8), and even at that, it stayed in my fridge for a week. No one could eat more than a bite or two at a time. I decided to go with something else for the event. That being said, these really do taste good, and I think it's a very original idea to make a savory cheesecake type thing. My sister thought it tasted like Rondole.

Mini Reubens

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
These are amazing! If you like the flavor of a regular reuben sandwich, you will LOVE these. They are the perfect appetizer size, and are easy to prepare and assemble. I'm making these again next weekend for my cousin's baby shower. I could eat the whole platter!! Thanks for sharing a wonderful, easy, impressive appetizer!

Tiny Chicken Turnovers

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
What a great appetizer! Time consuming though...so be prepared. I used a fully cooked whole chicken from the super market and pre-made pie crusts. If you go this route, I'd advise rolling the pie crust out thinner that it comes out of the package...makes more of them and you can taste the filling more. I added slightly more onion, and actually a little cinnamon (by accident - grabbed the wrong spice!), and they were still awesome. I made 110 of them for a baby shower and froze them ahead of time. This is a definite keeper! I know I'll be making these again and again. Even my finicky 4-year-old loved them! She called them "little pies."

Thai Red Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2006
This was SO good! I read the reviews before I prepared it and added more red curry paste as was suggested. I also added some fresh garlic, lime juice, salt and pepper while cooking. It was out of this world...just like going out for Thai food. I would start easy on the curry and continually taste and add, taste and add. I went a little overboard, but I love it spicy! If you like Thai, you should love this.
