Savory Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2011
I'm very persnickity when it comes to deviled eggs, that said, these were close to the best ones I've had. I did use apple cider vinegar (that's what I had on hand), still came out perfect! Thanks for sharing with us!

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
I made this cake for part of our Easter dinner, and was a little leary of the finished product. WELL, that quickly changed after taking the first bite! I substituted a boxed white cake because of time restrictions, and used 1/2 whole milk, and 1/2 coconut milk in the 3 milk combo. I do feel like the milk could have been reduced by about a cup. The cake was a real hit. We recently went to Punta Cana for my daughter's wedding, and 3 milk cake is very popular there. This cake is right on up there with that cake!

Grilled Chicken Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
What a pleasant surprise! We've grown up with Old Bay Seasoning, and I would have never thought it would compliment the ground chicken that well. Hubby grilled outside (we like a charcoal grill), and served with a tossed salad, and lots of chunky bleu cheese and hot sauce. Our new favorite!!!

Leftover Chicken Croquettes

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2008
We thought these patties were wonderful. We followed the recipe, with the addition of some parmesan cheese, hot sauce and some leftover corn "off" the cob we had from last nite's dinner. YUMMY!!!

Cranberry Chutney I

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
My daughter and I made this for Thanksgiving, and it was a big hit! I made a few adjustments though, I decreased the vinegar to 2 tablespoons, substituted Splenda for the sugar and used 3 apples instead of 2 (it made it thicker). Another great recipe!

I just made this frosting to go on top of the Zucchini Brownies, and WOW! is it ever good! I also omitted the milk and replaced it with heavy cream.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2006
Wonderful! I made a few adjustments, added 1/2 c. oil and 1/2 c. applesauce, doubled the spices, changed the water to buttermilk, and added one box of instant pumpkin spice flavored jello instant pudding. Also topped them off with the streusel topping from the To Die For Bluberry Muffin recipe from this web site. Great recipe, Laurie...Thanks!

Special Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
These deviled eggs have a good flavor, but I found the mayo to be too much. I added 6 more egg yolks to the filling to make it thicker.

Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2006
Great recipe...to send this one over the top, I chop about 1/4 cup sun dried tomatoes packed in olive oil and some fresh basil (in my mini food chopper) and mix with the cream cheese. Try it-you'll LOVE it!

Savory Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: May 23, 2006
I made these scrumptious rolls for our bible study class, and everyone went wild!! I actually made 2 recipes, one I followed the recipe exactly, and the other one I sprinkled butter, brown sugar and chopped pecans on the bottom of the rolls and then flipped them as soon as they came out of the oven. Amazing!.....After making these rolls a few times, I've tweeked them a bit. I decreased the water to two cups and found that to make the dough easier to work with. I also ground some chopped pecans and added them to the cinnamon/sugar mixture(which I also doubled). Outstanding!
