Johnny Marzetti III

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2001
I'm still looking for a recipe for something similar that my husband and I ate at school. When I read this, I thought I found it. I was disappointed. Although it's not bad, it's not particularly good. It's a good recipe to keep on hand, since it requires so few ingredients, and I usually have them on hand, but it won't be in my regular rotation. I found the tomato soup too sweet and the cheese overpowering. Maybe next time I'll use more tomato sauce and eliminate the soup, and use cheddar instead of American cheese.

Garlic Shrimp Linguine

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2001
What did I do wrong? With all of these wonderful reviews, I can't believe how disappointed I was. Maybe I did something wrong. I even ran out and bought the white wine. It wasn't enough sauce, even with doubling the recipe per previous reviews. I will try this again, but next time I'll make a few changes.

Apricot Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2001
This is superb! I hate pork, but my husband and children love it. I was in a hurry, looking for a change of pace that I could make quickly, and found it! Want to hear the biggest compliment of all? I ate 2 chops! To top it off, it's on our menu for next week again. Wonderful combination of ingredients, and my kids gobbled it up. Finally, a pork recipe that I can enjoy with my family.

Donna's Chocolate Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2001
This was a great recipe. It's easy, quick, and sooo good! I made it for my brother in law, who loves zucchini bread but won't eat anything I make. He took half a loaf to work for lunch! Even my kids ate it. What a wonderful way to eat veggies.

Bubble Pizza

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2001
I altered the recipe slightly....the kids won't eat onions, and I don't like ground beef, so I left that part out. I poured the sauce over the biscuits and added my own toppings and cheese, and everyone loved it! Even my picky hubby wanted more. I had to make some for lunch the next day. Thanks so much for a new twist on an old favorite.

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2001
I'm not a cinnamon person. My husband is. I was making my favorite banana bread and remembered seeing this recipe, so I decided to treat my husband and made a loaf of this too. Let me just say, there was nothing left that night. Between him and my 3 children, it was gone while it was still warm. He was so surprised. I had a little trouble with the topping, it didn't turn out crumbly, but kind of mushy. Maybe I'll make sure the butter is colder next time. Definately an easy recipe with all the ingredients on hand!

Ramen Coleslaw

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2001
I tried 2 different versions of this before I found this recipe, and loved them both. Then, when I made this one, I was in heaven! My hubby, who hates raw cabbage, couldn't eat it, but both my grandmother and sister, who adore regular coleslaw as much as I do, asked for the recipe! I even made a version without seeds or nuts for my grandmother who doesn't like either, and it's just as good.

Crispy Cucumbers and Tomatoes in Dill Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2001
This was so wonderful! My husband, who would rather starve than eat vegetables, requested it again. My 4 year old, who is a vegetable fanatic like her mother, didn't really like it much, but she isn't fond of vinegar. Definately a keeper.

Easy Toffee Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2001
I tried these at work from a friend, and loved them. When I found the recipe here, I had to try it. So easy, and so good! They taste exactly like the Chocolate Werther's candies I adore. My mom, who can't eat a lot of candy because it makes her teeth hurt, even requested the recipe!

Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2001
I am so impressed. I was looking for a sidedish for the kabobs we were going to make (I have a favorite marinade I use for my gyros and such) but found this. I saw it had a high rating, and talked my husband into trying it. I love anything with honey. He thought it turned out a little dry, but I loved it! So did the kids. We will definately make these again, but hubby will take his off the grill sooner than the rest of us.

Grilled Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2001
We tried this as a complement to a new kabob recipe I found. I added a few things, like onion powder and McCormick Montreal Steak seasoning, but it turned out delicious! No leftovers! Even my picky 4 year old liked it (although she left the onions, but she had seconds on the potatoes). My husband has declared this his "favorite grill sidedish".

Amy's Garlic Egg Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2001
My husband made this and said it was pretty easy. I liked it a lot, and my 2 girls ate it up! My son, the pickiest eater in the world, opted for hot dogs instead. We will make again.

Tasty Tortellinis

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2001
I made this at home on Saturday because I really wanted something quick and easy with tortillini. It was okay, but not what I was expecting. I will make it again, next time with a better brand of tortillini, but I think I may cut down some on the olive oil.

Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2001
I made this for dinner this Easter and it was wonderful. Even my husband said we will never stray from this recipe! My sister in law and her family dropped in unexpectedly and they all had seconds! Thank you so much.

Baked Corn

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2001
Mmmm mmmm mmmm. It resembles corn bread, but so much better! Even my husband, who doesn't like corn very much, said he'd eat it again. That's a huge compliment!

Babe Ruth Bars

When we were in high school, my sister came home from Home Ec with a recipe similar to this. I've been searching for the recipe, except hers didn't have the peanuts. Thank you for ending my search. Wonderful stuff.

Garlic Green Beans

Excellent, excellent, and excellent. This is now our favorite green bean recipe, even above the classic green bean casserole. Much easier to make, takes practically no time, and delicious!

Baked Beans II

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2001
This was the second best baked beans recipe ever! The best would be my mother's, but that takes all day to make, so I only make it on special occasions. This will be my main recipe from now on. So easy to make, had all the ingredients on hand, and wonderful taste. I think the vinegar had a lot to do with the taste, because there was a hint of tartness, which I loved. My son won't touch the beans, but my 4 yr old and 2 yr old daughters loved it!

Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2001
I had my husband whip up this recipe the other night because it sounded really quick and easy. It was quick and easy, and I had all the ingredients on hand, but it wasn't quite what I expected. I'll make it again, but not often.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2001
The combination of Ranch dressing and Teriyaki sauce caught my eye, and I showed the recipe to my husband, the main cook in our home, and he quickly put it away and never tried it. Two months later, I pulled it out and whipped it up. Very quick. I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be just by looking at it, but after the first bite, I loved it. So did my 4 year old. My husband literally LICKED HIS PLATE! And, the biggest compliment of them all, my son (who only eats things plain...no sauces or cheeses), not only ate all of his, but he asked for seconds!!! We will definately make this again. Only sorry didn't get to try sooner.
