My greatest cooking fans!
At my wedding
About this Cook
I'm a pediatrics resident at The Children's Hospital in Aurora, CO. I went to medical school at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. I grew up in Reno, Nevada, and went to college at Pomona College in Claremont, CA (about forty miles from downtown LA).
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new things! Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't, but I like to experiment. Of late, I've been trying to cook more healthily--cutting down on fats, limiting meat quantity and increasing veggies and fruits.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad was always the chef at home, and he taught me all kinds of random things. He liked gourmet cooking, although he's become very good at speedy gourmet, since he's pretty busy.
My cooking triumphs
A delicious five course meal for my wife on Valentine's Day this year: Shrimp cocktail in crystal wine glasses Clam chowder Basil pan seared scallops over pasta Homemade crab cakes Flourless Kahlua chocolate cake
My cooking tragedies
Way too many to count. I'm lucky my wife puts up with me

Cheese Fondue
Very good. A little Swissy, so make sure that you like Swiss if you make this!

Totally Groovy Chocolate Fondue
Very good recipe! I made a few changes which worked well: I used Kahlua instead of the cherry brandy and a 50/50 mix of semi-sweet and 60% cacao chips. I used some instant coffee ground and just mixed it in instead of brewing coffee and left out the cinnamon. Last but not least, I doubled the cream and alcohol to make it a little more smooth. All in all, definitely a keeper!

Spicy Chicken and Sweet Potato Stew
Like taco soup with sweet potatoes. And odd combination, but it tasted good!
