Pain au Chocolat (Chocolate-Filled Croissant)

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
For starters, even using a bread machine that water amount is not correct. I found that 3/4 cup is perfect so this must be a typo. Working the butter into the dough is so very critical, do not rush this step. You can leave the dough in overnight after you have worked the butter though it, instead of 30 minutes. I roll my dough similiar to rolling cinnamon rolls. Cut it in 1/2 (6x21") and make 2 rows of chocolates, one starting at the beginning of the roll and the second one at the half mark. Roll it into a tube and cut into 3" pieces. I want to try making them next using an almond paste. Thanks so much for sharing this.

Twice Baked Potatoes II

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2011
I used the very large baking potatoes, rubbed them with olive oil and rolled in kosher salt. Baked in a 400 degree oven for an hour or so which gave a dark and a little crunchy skin. I already have plans to make more and change up the ingredients.

Fettuccine Italiana

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
The turkey sausage gives it a lot of flavor so if you substitute this for something else, it's going to be flat. This is a nice basic stir fry recipe and easy to change to your own personal tastes. I added a 2 tablespoons of soy sauce with the the chicken stock out of habit but I am sure that it would have been fine without.

Nadine's Delicious Tilapia

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
This was so yummy we couldn't get enough of it! I did bake it instead at 425 degrees for 12 minutes and broiled it until it was a little crispy for about 4 minutes. Also sprinkled a glaze of olive oil on top before broiling it.

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
I made this by using my bread machine and cutting the recipe in half. I used only 1 tblsp of hot water instead of 2 and put ingredients in according to my bread maker. The dough was beautiful....the taste incredible, it melted in your mouth. It made 16 donuts with a dozen or so donut holes. I can't imagine anyone giving this recipe less than 5 Stars.

Cola Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
If I were making this for a large group this recipe is a crowd pleaser. On a personal note, it just seems to be missing something little to make it POP. I rolled the chops in flour, seasoned with garlic and spices like others had suggested. Next time, I plan to substitute the ketchup with bbq sauce and add some heat.

Calzone

Yummy! I have made this several times and use the recipe for Easy Pizza Sauce III and whatever is available for toppings. I don't have the patience to do the crisscross pattern so I fold them over like a pastie.

Amazing! I will never buy pizza sauce again. I did add 1/2 tsp of sugar to the mix.

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
This sauce is amazing! I read most of the reviews before making this and the only modification I made was using 3/4 of vinegar, omitted the cayenne pepper (didn't have any!) and simmered for 90 minutes since I like my sauces thick. A big thank you to Alan Arthur for sharing this with us!

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
This was my first attempt at making bagels and the results were great. A very nice flavor. However, I did make one alteration, I added 1 TBS spoon of olive oil to the dough. Next time I make these, I will need to lightly oil the baking sheet since these did stick a little.

Mushroom Sauce Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2007
I made a couple alterations to this recipe. I browned the chops (3 of them) in olive oil, eliminated the milk and used Campbell's Select portobella mushroom soup instead. When I make it again, I will had a hint of rosemary and use fresh garlic when browning the chops. Overall, I found this to be very tasty.
