Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
Great recipe! I've never been a huge fan of gingerbreaad cookies, but these are delicious and very easy to make. I couldn't find the "cook and serve" pudding mix so I used the instant kind and they still turned out great.

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
The cake seemed to turn out fine...it rose well and tasted good, but there was way to much liquid. It wasn't a moist cake, it was a sopping wet cake. Out of six people nobody liked it. Not sure what I did wrong or if it's just something that doesn't appeal to me and my family.

Roquefort Pear Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
Yummy! I made this to go with our Christmas dinner and it was a hit. I even left out the avocado and green onions. The nuts mixed with the pear and cheese (I used gorgonzola) was a great combination. This is a great recipe for any time, but it also presents really well for company and special occasions. Thanks for the recipe!

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
Really yummy! Per the suggestions I baked mine instead of fried them and I left out the spinach. They were delicious and even my picky eaters liked them. They were also great as leftovers. I just popped them in the toaster oven to warm them up and they stayed nice and crispy.

Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
Delicious taste! I did have the same problem as some others with them falling apart because they were so moist from all the wet ingredients.

Taco Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
I just made this for our block party and it was a hit! The only thing I did different was use Spicy Ranch dressing (per another review). Thanks for the great recipe!

Pasta Pomodoro

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
This has become an almost weekly dinner for us. The only change I make is using spaghetti instead of angel hair so it is more filling as a main course. It is also great cold the day after as leftovers, or for a picnic in the summer. Yummy!

Rosemary Garlic Rub

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
I will definitely make this again. I only used dried herbs and it still came out good. My 5 and 3 year old even liked it! This is a great recipe if you are looking for something quick, flavorful and healthy.

Mushroom Orzo

Reviewed: May 9, 2008
This is a very tasty recipe. Per some of the reviews, I used chicken broth instead of water and I will probably reduce the white wine next time and add more of the broth. Maybe it was just my wine, but my husband and I thought it tasted too strong in it. I will make this again!

Raspberry Cheese Spread

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
I just made this for my book club and it was a huge hit! We have nut allergies in the family, so I skipped those and it was still delicious and very easy to make.

Phyllo Turnovers with Shrimp and Ricotta Filling

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
I just made these for Christmas Eve and they were good, but not a wow for us. They needed a little more flavor. Plus, they are very time consuming, although not extrememly hard.

Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
These were good, but my husband and I both said that if you told us they were box pancakes, we would believe you. I think I will stick with Aunt Jemima, but this is a good back up if I run out.

Hot Spiced Cider

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2007
I just made this on Thanksgiving and it was a huge hit. I have tried a few recipes in the past and my whole family said this was the best one. I put it in the crockpot with everything in a coffee filter tied with a rubberband (like others suggested)and put the orange and cinnamon stick in floating around. It worked great and was delicious. If you have a white crockpot, you will really have to scrub at it to get it clean..maybe spray it with a little bit of cooking spray beforehand? Thanks for the recipe!

Darra's Famous Tuna Waldorf Salad Sandwich Filling

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2007
Very good tuna salad! I tend to half the apple, otherwise it starts to taste more like a fruit salad with a little tuna in it. I also leave out the curry and half the mayo. (That's more of a personal choice though.)

Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: May 1, 2007
I have tried a lot of vegetable side dishes lately and this is the first one my husband raved about. I do not like a lot of vegetables and even I really enjoyed this recipe. It is just the right amount of seasonings to add flavor, but not take away from the true taste of the veggies.

Slow Cooker Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
This was a good recipe and very easy, but I would definitely reduce the cheese by probably half. It is a very rich meal...I would consider making it as an appetizer. We just couldn't eat a whole plate full of it.

Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
Yummy! I use to love meatball subs when I worked in Boston and had a great sub shop down the street, and I haven't been able to find a good recipe until now. My husband is Italian and grew up on meatballs and is VERY particular and he said they were great too! The only thing I did different was I kept my meatballs in the sauce for at least a half hour before prepping the sandwiches. Delicious! I will definitely make these again!

Christmas Strawberry Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
I looked in two grocery stores (Kroger and Super Target) and could not find strawberry extract, so I used vanilla extract based on another review. I thought this was a very tasty bread, but thought the cinnamon was a little overpowering (although this may have been because I didn't use the strawberry extract). I will make this again.

I just made this for Christmas dinner and it was great. I made it the day before and it heated up well and was delicious. I will definitely make it again.
