I'm a 30-something BF who enjoys writing, reading, art, cooking, dining, visiting cemeteries and photographing odd tombstones, cats, horses, history (esp. WWII, Egyptian, Greek, and religious), foreign travel & cultures, mountains, true crime, nearly anything about vampires, and collecting unusual names, recipes, and books (I've got all the statehood quarters now).
My favorite things to cook
Thai-style soba or rice noodles, curried couscous, tabouli, hummus with pita bread, Greek pizza, healthy sesame chicken, chicken or veggie pot pie,
homemade ice creams/sorbets/frozen yogurts, cherry-limeade, homemade ginger
ale, cakes, brownies, cookies, cheesecake (yum-yum), and veggie soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family only eats Southern-style foods, though those of us of the younger generation will try almost anything once. I love ethnic food!
My cooking triumphs
Southern Comfort, Kahlua, Pineapple Upside Down, Harvey Wallbanger, Almond Joy, Coconut Rum, and Double Orange cakes wowed my family and friends.

The Blue Velvet cake I made this past Christmas turned green!
