Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2015
I make this often. The flavor is good, but then, we love garlic. I would reccommend for those who don't, to cut back to 1 1/2 Tb. I also added my Simon and Garfunkle spice mix. On occasion, I trade out the red wine with apple juice. It is less overpowering than the red wine. (Parsley ,Sage. Rosemary, and Thyme) That adds the extra flavor some people crave in pork. Overall, this is a wonderful basic Pork loin meal, We will have this again. This came out very tender, These days, crockpots vary in times, and heat. For those who had a dry roast, maybe it was cooked too long. I have 3 crockpots, and have learned to adjust recipes accordingly, to suit the recipe. If you wound up with a tough texture, but it was not dry, it probably need more cooking time in your crockpot. If it came out dry, your pot probably cooks faster than the one that was use originally.

Amish Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2015
I omitted the brown sugar in the meat mixture all together. I also only used 1/4 a cup in the sauce topping. With those tweeks, it turned out nicely. I always drain the grease off before adding the topping to a meatloaf. Over all this makes a nice, moist meatloaf.

Jim's Old Fashioned Oyster Dressing

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2015
Oyster Dressing is a delicious addition to any thanksgiving meal. This is a keeper. I do however make this using pepperidge Farms Seasoned white bread cubes. The reviewer Bipeman is incorrect. This is aptly named. He may call it what he prefers.. Some parts of the country call this stuffing regardless of the fact it is not stuffed in anything. The two names are interchangeable. Rating it poorly because others call it dressing is ridiculous. Just because someone calls it by a different name, does not mean it is incorrect., or that it diminishes how good this recipe is. It is a definite keeper!

Hard Boiled Eggs in the Oven

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2015
I have tried this recipe many times. I love the texture, as the eggs come out creamy. if you don't like the brown areas caused by the muffin tin, don't dispair! Simply put the eggs on the oven rack instead. Brown spots appear, but do not go all the way through to the egg itself.

Kentucky Style Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: May 27, 2011
This is the only way to fry green tomatoes! I do however, take it up a notch by using buttermilk in stead of regular milk, and as others have suggested, a dash or two of cayenne with a sprinkle of sugar.

This recipe is so simple and also delicious. I took Linda's advice and made the sauce.(simply divine) I did however, substitute Italian style bread crumbs as that was what I had on hand. I think next time I will again. Thumbs up at our house!

This is a very tasty way to fix a Lemon chicken. I omitted the stuffing as well. Instaed, I used rice. The broth made an excellent gravy to use on the rice. I will definitely try this again!
