Chicago-Style Pan Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2014
I have made this several times, and every time I thought it would make a great pasta as well. So last night I did just that - used gnocchi instead of crust and did not drain my tomatoes, otherwise exactly the same. YUM! The gnocchi gives it the bite of the missing crust, and the juice made for fantastic dipping with warm bread on the side. Loved it!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: May 25, 2013
This is my go-to muffin recipe. Please try the first time without messing with it at all. Then if you want to add or replace, go ahead, but it's 5 star as is. I have probably reviewed this before, but they are so wonderful they deserve more than 5 stars!

Penne with Chicken and Asparagus

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2013
Just made this and it is fantastic! I used 2 breasts from a rotisserie chicken and added a couple of T of butter instead of more olive oil at the end, but other than those 2 changes made exactly as written. I was waiting on the pasta to finish cooking the prep time was so easy and quick! I also put fresh ground pepper on our plates, just because I like it, but would be good if not. You could add many more veggies: tomatoes, squash, mushrooms, whatever, but be sure to use the asparagus, it's perfect! A nice light quick meal that looks a lot more sophisticated, it's a keeper!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2012
These are awesome! I didn't have any walnuts, but I did have some pistachios so I added them. I think they melted into the cookies! I was concerned about how to tell when they were done since they don't really brown (too dark already!) I baked in a convection oven 3 batches at a time for 8 mins at 325, had one pan left so baked that an additional 2 minutes, can't tell which is which! The creaminess of the chocolate chips covers up any mistakes, and it's all chocolate, so it's all good! Definately a keeper!

Slow Cooker Carnitas

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2012
This is awesome! I did not use the cinnamon and doubled the other spices like other reviewers said. I also added 2 teaspoons of Pampered Chef chili lime rub. I was hesitant to try this recipe becasue of the chicken broth, but now I think that's the secret to the recipe. When finished, the pork dipped into the broth is sooooo good - YUM! I just made it for the pork, on a low carb diet so I can't do the rest of the burrito, but this is the recipe I will use when I can have one! Thanks for sharing!

Mariu's Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2012
This is a fantastic recipe! I changed just a few things because of what I had on hand = left out the mint and used 3 cups beef broth and 1 8 oz tomato sauce. I also browned my ground beef, onions and garlic together and did the mushrooms and butter in a separate skillet. When the mushrooms were sauteed I added to the broth & tomoato sauce mixture and let it simmer a couple of hours. When I mixed everything together at the end I added the Romano cheese as well. The pasta ended up absorbing most of the juice and it was so yummy! I can't wait to make it for the kids - there won't be any left of this pot for them!

Chrissy's Sweet 'n' Sour Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2012
Yum! I made with olive oil and no salt or pepper. The only thing I would change is to use a little less oil, maybe 1/4 cup instead of a half. A little fresh basil would be good too. It was fantastic as is, I just think it would work as well with less oil. We had with fried tenderloins and it was a perfect complement. I let marinade for about an hour. This one will be pinned.

Aunt Jewel's Chicken Dressing Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2012
okay, I messed this up quite a bit, and it is still yummy! First of all, I used left over rotisserie chicken, probably about 2 cups. Then I made my own dressing b/c I had a couple of loaves of ciabiatta bread getting stale, so I sauteed an onion 3 stalks of celery, a garlic clove, a carrot and a bunch of sliced mushrooms, added a bunch of sage and mixed it in with the bread. I only had cr of mushroom soup, so I used 2 of those. Then I forgot that was supposed to go directly over the chicken and already had 1/2 if the dressing in the pan. So I poured in the mixture, and put the rest of the dressing on top. Since I used what I had on hand, I ended up with a whole lot more dressing than chicken.....wait, did I mention theleftover peas? They were in the fridge, so what the heck, I put those on top of the chicken before the soup and stuffing. Anyway, yum! Seemed to be the best of pot pie and chicken and dressing. I left uncovered to get the top crunchy, but you could easily cover for a moister dressing. Try this recipe, I promise even if you mess it up, it will be great! Thanks Creter!

Blackberry Pie III

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2012
This is the BEST blackberry pie, and way too easy to pass up. I made it for my brother and my sister in law helped, she couldn't believe how easy. I bought 6 cartons of blackberrys, and 4 were 4 cups. I mixed it up and poured into a 10" pie shell and it wasn't enough, so I just put the other 2 containers on top. I probably should have added more flour, because my family couldn't wait for it to cool and it was quite juicy. But we had it with vanilla ice cream and the hot berry juice over the ice cream was amazing! So even if you mess up, it's incredible! My son in law thought he was waiting for my usual apple pie, and said when he realized it was blackberry he was disappointed before he tasted it, but then just kept raving about it. Finishing it up now 2 days later, the juice did gel and it's still wonderful. Thanks for this recipe!!!

Sinfully Delicious Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
this pie is amazing! I couldn't find fine sugar, so I did the food processor trick. It was still grainy when I put it in the pie crust, but by the next day it was spectacular! Used a Pillsbury pie crust and did the rest of the recipe exactly as instructed. This is one of my favorite recipes from this website, thanks for sharing it!

Sausage Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2011
Loved this! I made it just to use up some sausage and I had all the ingredients except the black olives. I cut the cheese in half as previous reviewers, but next time I will use it all and get the black olives too. It's one of those recipes that you can get addicted to, tastes better every time I have it. If you leave out the olives, add a little salt. This is one to share.

Creamy Chicken Rice Soup

Awesome soup! I, too, used half and half. I omitted the lemon juice and wine because I barely got the cream into it before my husband was already eating some. He didn't want me to change it after his first bite.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
I lost my lasagna recipe years ago, and have been looking for another since then. This recipe is even better! I used the wide Barilli noodles uncooked and a whole container of fresh basil, but no other changes. I have served this for a party and had to print off the recipe for everyone there. It is so worth the extra work!

Tortellini Soup I

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
Fantastic! My daughter told me about this, so we had to try it. I only used about 1/2 a green pepper, no wine or water, and 2 boxes of Swanson beef broth. I didn't have any dried oregano so I put in a pinch of ground oregano. I honestly don't think you can mess up this recipe. My husband is not a fan of either tortellini or green pepper, and he loved it!!!
