Stir Fry Turkey (Dad's Version)

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2014
I'm in love with this! have made it twice in a week. The only changes I made was to increase the liquids as I added cooked noodles directly to the stir fry (I didn't want it too dry) and added kale because I had it. This is an awesome way to use leftover turkey. Also, you can make it as spicy as you like.

Scottley's Basic Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2014
This turned out beautifully! I made it for a pineapple upside down cake. I used 1/2c butter 1/2c shortening and added 3 tbsp of oil and creamed it for about 10 mins. Added eggs one at a time mixing well after each then fold in flour and milk careful not to over mix. I made this for a family dinner, everyone was surprised at how good it tasted. This is a keeper!

Creole Okra

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2013
Just made this minus the green peppers and I loved it! Served over brow rice. It wasn't slimy for me either, maybe because I fry the okra that is I add them to the onion/ garlic and fry for a few minutes before adding the tomatoes. Will be making regularly.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2010
OMG!!! this is soo good. I was using another recipe from the site that called for buttermilk (which I almost never have) so I was looking for a recipe that didn't call for it. I made this and tried it right away. Had them for dinner and they are truly the best pancakes I've ever had!. I follow the other reviewers and decreased the salt, increased the milk, added vanilla and I also added an extra tbsp of sugar. SO GOOD!

Kidney Beans and Corn

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
I just made this. WOW!!! Easy & Quick. Tastes good and looks good. I used items I had on hand as follows - didn't have red onion used white, added green and red peppers, used 1 tsp. regular mustard, and spiced it up with cayenne pepper, italian seasoning, salt & black pepper. Followed everything else. This will be a regular for me. Perfect with rice.

A Plus Fair Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
A-W-E-S-O-M-E !!! I followed the recipe, didn't change a thing. I took one reviewer's advice and used a tall container and dusted in flour before battering. My family really enjoyed these. We will definitely be making these regularly.

Spaghetti with Corned Beef

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
I love this! The best thing is that you can customize it to your liking and use any type of pasta - elbow, macaroni, or shells. Quick and tasty. I didn't give it 5 stars because I used bottled spaghetti sauce.

Curry Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2008
I love broccoli so I really enjoyed this salad. I tweaked it base on what I had available. I used lowfat yogurt instead of mayo, I didn't have any raisins so I peeled and chop an apple, shredded a carrot and used dry roasted peanuts. Spiced it up with a little more curry, cayenne pepper and let it sit for a couple of hours. Great salad, pretty too!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
These were sooo good! did not last in my house at all. I will make this a regular cookie but next time I'll leave the 1 tbsp water out. It was too soft to handle (I live in a very warm climate) just spooned them onto the cookie sheet and they still turned out fine.

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
Awesome! I took the others advice...less sugar, vanilla, very little more oil. I also used less a little cornmeal and they weren't as crumbly. This is a keeper.
