Blueberry Pinwheels

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2014
I made the dough in my bread machine (so much easier!). I used fresh blueberries and pressed them into the dough before rolling it up and had no issues with the blueberries falling out. I loved the lemon in this. I think next time I would increase the cinnamon filling, as it was barely noticeable. Thanks for sharing this recipe (that is now on TOH website), Betsy Stoner!

Bourbon Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2014
I took some suggestions from other reviewers and modified the recipe by reducing the soy sauce to 2 oz, increasing the brown sugar to 3/4 cup. I subbed Brandy in place of the Bourbon, as that is what I had on hand and I think it worked beautifully in this recipe. I reserved half of the marinade before letting the chunked chicken soak in it for about 12 hours. I cooked the chicken on the stovetop and when chicken was mostly cooked I added the reserved sauce to finish cooking. I would not hesitate to make the same modifications when making this recipe again. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe, Lucy Loo!

Fresh Blackberries and Cream Ice Pops

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2014
I double strained the seeds and used 6 oz blackberries and 6 oz raspberries. I also used raspberry frozen yogurt, as that is what was on hand. The flavor was great! I had a problem with the pops not sticking to the molds. Thanks for the easy, tasty and healthy recipe, platypusofdeath!

Real Strawberry Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2014
This frosting has incredible flavor! I did not find it overly sweet at all, in fact it had a very faint (and perfect) tartness from the fresh berries! My strawberry sauce was reduced by half at around the 10 minute mark, so please be sure to watch it closely. I generously frosted 24 cupcakes and had a little bit left to spare. Thanks so much for such a lovely recipe, Candice!

Frozen Peanut Butter Pudding Squares

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2014
I made these exactly as the recipe stated and they couldn't have been any easier to make! To melt the peanut butter, I measured it in a one cup glass measuring cup and microwaved for one minute. Perfect. I garnished some with some decorated sprinkles, for a fun look. My 5 y/o granddaughter couldn't stay out of these and loved helping make them! The rest of the family can't stay out of them either :D Thanks for the recipe, Linda (LMT)!

Karen's Slow Cooker Chicken Fajitas

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2014
I made this recipe exactly as the recipe states, except for using frozen chicken breasts and homemade fajita seasoning. It was very well received at dinner last night, but next time I would add the peppers half way through cooking. My peppers/onions were basically cooked away even though I sliced them fairly thick. I would probably also increase the amount of peppers/onions and garnish with chopped cilantro. I used the liner, which was absolutely wonderful! Thanks, Reynolds!

Amazing 'Pizza' Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2014
This makes for a good chop that's unique and flavorful. I seared my chops on the grill prior to cooking in the pan, uncovered. I used dried herbs out of necessity. I made one chop without tomato for my granddaughter, leading me to realize that the tomato is an important part of the recipe! The chop without tomato was not nearly as moist or flavorful. Thanks for sharing this recipe with us, CNM CATERING!

Monkey Bread Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2014
Saturday morning breakfast couldn't have been more fun! My 5 y/o granddaughter absolutely LOVED making these! From cutting the biscuits with the pizza cutter, the dipping (and licking) and skewering, and last but not least - eating - these yummy little treats! We added fresh pineapple chunks - YUM-YUM! Thanks for the great recipe idea, SHORECOOK!! PS - This would be a great recipe for slumber parties, girl scout troops, etc!

Melon Lime Cooler

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2014
This was very good and so refreshing. I followed the recipe exactly - (my average sized melon equaled exactly 4.5 cups). Next time I will partially thaw my melon, as it took awhile in the food processor to puree. (Pulsing helped immensely). This one's a keeper at our house! Thanks for sharing, BIGSIS821!

Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2014
Good old fashioned comfort food is what I like to call it! My only change was to add a chopped green pepper to the mix. I also used a pound of mixed pastas that needed to be used up. Served with garlic bread and had a great meal! Thanks for sharing, pathunt!

Chicken Cordon Bleu-ish Grilled Sandwich

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2014
This is a nice change of pace sandwich that was well received at our house. I had some pepperjack to use up so subbed that for the swiss. I used Famous Dave's Sweet and Zesty BBQ sauce, which was a nice addition. I also used sourdough bread, which I feel is a great choice for this sandwich. Thanks for sharing your recipe, Celeste!

Cool Summer Cucumber and Tomato Toss

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2014
Couldn't be any easier and tastes so fresh! Like summer in a bowl! I used red wine vinegar in place of balsamic but that's a minor change. Tastes better the longer it sits. Thanks for sharing, MOTTSBELA!

White Pizza a la Chick Lit

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2014
For simplicity - this was great! I did reduce the garlic down to 6 cloves and still felt it was a bit overpowering (and I like garlic). I also reduced the cheese down to 2 cups, which I felt was plenty. I also did not add the drizzle of olive oil at the end, as I felt it unnecessary. For ease and final outcome, though, I felt it was a good recipe. Thanks for sharing, jillytuile!

Deep Fried Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2014
I thought these were pretty good. While they don't quite match ones I've had at restaurants, they are still tasty and fairly easy to make. Thanks for another great recipe, MARBALET!

Cheddar Bacon Hamburgers with Horseradish

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2014
I thought this was one of the best burgers I've in quite some time! I followed the recipe, used sharp cheddar, adding some additional on top at the end. I used the bacon bits, which I thought added great flavor, along with the horseradish, which I felt was just the right amount. This is definitely a keeper burger recipe at our house!! Thanks so much for sharing, LISASNOW!!

Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2014
I should have followed my instincts and drained most of the juice from the peaches. I ended up with very soggy cobbler even though I tried to adjust bake time, it just had too much liquid. I also felt that the butter and sugar could have been reduced somewhat. Due to the excessive liquid, my cobbler ran over in the oven even though I used a deep baking dish. I think the flavor is good, but I think adjustments are in order. Thanks for sharing this recipe, SLOANF!

California Cherry and Walnut Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2014
This is a good salad that is easy to throw together. I used romaine in lieu of a bagged salad (that stuff scares me - lol) but otherwise followed the recipe. Good - but not my favorite....Thanks for sharing your recipe, Arci!

Tangy Cucumber and Avocado Salad

I thought this was a very good, fresh tasting, light salad. I cut the recipe in half, except for the garlic and cilantro, which I kept the same. Thanks for sharing your recipe, Jessie Welch!

Grill-Pickle Relish

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2014
This was very good on top of our brats last night! It was also very easy to throw together, although I did use a grill pan for the onions, so they wouldn't fall through the grates. Yum, yum!! Thanks for sharing your recipe, hazelnut! It's a keeper!!
