Kris' Amazing Shredded Mexican Beef

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2015
This was very good and had a lot of flavor. I cut the roast down to 2 pounds but kept everything else the same except the chipotle peppers (I used two peppers). It was one the verge of being too spicy for my family, but was pretty close to being perfect. I cooked it on low for ten hours in lieu of cooking it on high for eight hours, as the recipe indicated. The roast literally fell apart and was cooked perfectly. We served on baked corn tortillas with lettuce, monterray jack cheese, tomatoes, sour cream and guacamole. It made for a wonderful meal! Thanks for sharing your recipe, happygirl820!

Chef Gerard's Award Winning Caesar Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2015
Recipe Group Selection 4/2015. I put everything into my food processor except the olive oil and whizzed it to a smooth consistency. With the processor still going, I trickled in the olive oil until it was fully incorporated. After tasting I had to add sugar to get it to a flavor we liked. I was not wowed by the flavor of this dressing, but of course that could just be a matter of preference. I love trying different homemade dressings and I appreciate the opportunity to have tried this one. Thanks for sharing your recipe, Bueny!

Griddle Style Philly Steak Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2015
We loved these simple, tasty sandwiches! I cleaned out my cheese drawer and used provolone, swiss and pepper jack. All three were tasty, but the pepper jack was my favorite! Thanks, AUTUMNHEARTS!

Cream of Wheat Griddlecakes

These pancakes were a huge hit at our house. I followed the recipe exactly as stated, only using reduced fat sour cream. I think I may have just found my new "go to" pancake recipe! Thanks so much for sharing this recipe, CSYJNAMOM!!

Blueberry Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2015
I thought this blueberry sauce was wonderful! Unlike some other reviewers, I did not fin he orange juice flavor overpowering at all, even upon serving it immediately. While I could taste a hint of orange, I could also taste a hint of almond and cinnamon, but the primary star was the blueberries (I used frozen). The only change I made to this recipe was reducing the sugar to 1/2 cup and I would not hesitate to do it again, as it was plenty sweet for us. Thanks for sharing this great recipe, ISYBEL!

Mami Elva's Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2015
I loved this fruit salad and so did my Easter guests. My recommendation would be to make sure you drain all the canned fruit really well, as it does have a tendency to get a little watery after it sits. I had to drain the excess liquid a couple of times after the salad was made. Leftovers the next day were still very good, and the walnuts and apples were still crunchy. I did not bother to halve the cherries. Thanks for the easy, tasty recipe, Espinoza!

Yummy Summer Pea Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2015
This was very good and was well received at our Easter dinner. It is one of those salads that gets better the longer it sits. Leftovers the next day were just as good or even better than on day 1! Thanks for he tasty, easy recipe, tstancell! (Note: I used lite mayo and red wine vinegar. I also used the regular, cheaper raisins in lieu of golden raisins)

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2015
These are very good, but very time consuming. I opted to chop the onion as opposed to slicing into rings and I mixed the onions into the sliced potatoes as opposed to layering it all in the middle. I also increased the cheese to two cups. Very good and very well received. Thanks for sharing, CathyM!

Northwest Steakhouse Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2015
I thought this was a pretty good steak marinade. I'm not sure if it knocked my socks off enough to justify the calories, but for a rare occasion, I would consider it. The steak came out tender and mildly, but pleasantly seasoned. Thanks for sharing this recipe, JETTABLONDE72!

Texas Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2015
The star of this recipe is the caramelized onions and when I make these again, I will double them. I would also double the cheese. I used Famous Dave's Sweet & Spicy BBQ sauce, but next time I will pick a sauce that boasts a little heat/spice, as I felt the quesadillas fell a little short on flavor, as is. My preferred method for cooking quesadillas is in a hot dry skillet, as opposed to in the oven. Great, versatile recipe! Thanks for sharing, MICHELLE!

Quite refreshing and different. My daughter thought it tasted like apple pie in a glass. I thought it would be good with a little bit of rum! Thanks for sharing your recipe, SB!

Super Easy Slow Cooker Chicken Enchilada Meat

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2015
I followed the recipe exactly and everyone loved these! I was worried about the amount of chili powder in this, but I'm glad I didn't alter the recipe! This makes a very good enchilada sauce and filling for chicken enchiladas! I loved the sauce so much I'm going to try using it for ground beef enchiladas, too! Thanks for a great (and easy) recipe, Kari Shifflett!

Jan's Loaded Pizza Fries

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2015
We loved these! Of course, what's not to love, right? Fries, cheese, pizza! Yum! I used Red Robin steak fries from the freezer section of my grocery store and they were the perfect size for holding up all those yummy toppings! I added black olives and used the mini pepperoni. I served these for dinner with some fresh pineapple. Best dinner we've had all week! Thanks for sharing, WFDM!!

Applesauce Drop Doughnuts

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2015
I followed this recipe exactly as written, and found the consistency of the cooked dough to be rather dense and heavy. While the flavor was okay, it seemed to be lacking enough spice for my tastes. I rolled them in a cinnamon/sugar mixture which helped improve the flavor somewhat. Also, I had to cook them a total of 4 minutes in order to get them fully cooked in the middle. Thanks for sharing this recipe, Frances Post!

Jan's Simple and Tasty Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2015
These were a hit at our house! I had some leftover cooked chicken to use, so I subbed it for the shrimp. I also cut the salt and pepper in half. I can easily see adding green onion and other veggies with great results, too. Thanks for sharing your recipe what's for dinner, mom!

Simple Hush Puppies

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2015
The recipe title is fitting, as these were very simple to make. I highly recommend using a deep fryer, unless you can regulate the heat on your stovetop to a consistent temperature. I had to make these on the stovetop and my first batch was perfect, however, my oil got too hot for the next batch and the outsides burned before the inside was able to cook. We thought the flavor and consistency of these was very good and I would easily make these again using a deep fryer. Thanks for the recipe, myka!

Caesar Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2015
While I feel the recipe name could be a little misleading, I still cannot resist giving this 5 stars due to the wonderful flavor of this dressing!! It does not particularly remind me of a traditional Caesar dressing, but it is bright, citrus-y and refreshing, nonetheless! I loved it and will be putting it in me keeper file! Thanks for sharing, chefmommy!

Old Hamburger Bun Croutons

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2015
I had some bakery buns leftover from another meal and transformed them into these delicious croutons! I used a Tuscan herb flavored olive oil, but otherwise followed the recipe. Next time, I think I will up the seasonings a tad more, even though we still loved them as written! Thanks for the great recipe, tashaspice!!

Lemon Chicken Orzo Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2015
This was a good soup, although I've never had Panera's version to compare it to. I followed the recipe as written, but next time I think I will adjust the lemon juice to taste, as mine came out a little more lemony than I would have liked. Thanks for sharing your recipe, ReneePaj!
