About this Cook
I'm 30 years old, married with two gorgeous kids. I'm also a full-time student, studying early childhood education.
My favorite things to cook
Every Christmas, I make a variety of cookies to pass out to friends and coworkers. I love baking so I have a lot of fun making, decorating, and packaging cookies every year!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and I started out making sugar cookies and gingerbread every Christmas eve, years ago when I was young. I have since added to that tradition by including different kinds of cookies and making them all month long. And now my kids can help, too!
My cooking tragedies
One yaer, I tried to make York peppermint cookeis. I couldn't find the York baking chips anywhere, so I cut up some regular-sized patties. The mint filling melted in the oven and oozed out of the cookies, it was terrible! Also... my friend and I tried to make pistachio chicken with a pomegranete sauce once. The result was chicken coated in green chunks and topped with a pepto bismol pink sauce. Bleck!

Cream Cheese Christmas Cookies
These cookies are amazing! I never put the large pecan on each cookie and they still turn out incredible. They're a huge hit every year. Just watch them in the oven - they don't get very brown so don't just eyeball them, be sure to set a timer to know when to take them out.

Raspberry Star Cookies
These cookies are delicious and beautiful! I gave it 4 stars because the cookies are pretty time-consuming, and the recipe doesn't make nearly as many cookies as it claims, I've found. The cookies and icing are both fantastic. I make these for Christmas every year and use a variety of preserves (my dad loves apricot!). I make stars, snowflakes, bells, gingerbread men, and whatever other shapes I have lying around. I get lots of compliments on these every year!
