Apple Spice Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2006
I didn't care for the combination of the apples, onion and garlic, but my boyfriend thought it was okay. I won't make it again, but other people might like it.

Unsloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2006
I made a simplified version of this: no carrots, celery, vinegar, or peppers and garlic powder instead of minced garlic. I doubled the beans. This cut the cooking time down to about 10 minutes. It was VERY spicy, but my boyfriend (a non-vegetarian) and I loved it. This is definitely a keeper!!!

Curried Lentils

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2006
I followed the recipe exactly and my boyfriend and I didn't like it, but we don't like lentils very much. I only tried it to get rid of some lentils I had lying around the house. If you like lentils, you might like this recipe.

Gnocchi with Pesto Sauce

Reviewed: May 18, 2007
Very tasty! This is a simple, healthy dish and a nice change from plain old pasta. The fresh veggies taste great! I tossed in a lot of basil, garlic powder and sauteed the veggies with garlic, too. It gave the recipe a nice kick.

I fixed these in my toaster oven. It worked perfectly! Cooking time was just right for me. I will definitely use this recipe again.

Reuben Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
I followed the recipe EXACTLY and got rave reviews from my entire family, including my uber-picky father-in-law who is never happy with anything - including restaurant food. This is definitely a keeper!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2007
These were perfect! I followed the instructions exactly, cooked them for 6 minutes and they came out perfectly. I followed others' suggestions and used powdered sugar instead of flour while rolling and cutting. It cut down on the stickiness and gave the cookies a nice, light sweetness.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
This came out delicious, but like other reviewers, I had to add A LOT of corn syrup and a little milk to thin it out. It dried smooth and glossy, though.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
This was delicious! I followed the recipe exactly, except I cooked mini-quiches in a muffin pan. My husband and I loved them.

Cranberry Hootycreeks

I followed the recipe exactly. My husband loved them. I wasn't too crazy about them, but I'm not a fan of white chocolate.

Orange Balls II

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
I'm not sure what I did wrong, but they turned out super mushy and wouldn't solidify no matter what I tried. They were also too sweet, even for me.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly and these are hands-down the best cookies I've ever had. My husband agreed and told me that I had to hold onto this recipe. Update: I made these a second time and I think I over mixed the dough, because they came out very heavy with almost a shortbread consistency. Be careful not to mix the dough too much!

Love Soup Mix in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
I tried this recipe before giving it as a gift. The macaroni was overdone and the tri-color pasta was undercooked. I had to cook it a lot longer to get the tri-color pasta to cook at all. My husband ate it, but I couldn't stomach it.

Fabulous Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
This was great! My husband who earlier turned his nose up at the idea of fruit salad loved it. My husband doesn't care for nectarines, so I used a can of mandarin oranges instead. Otherwise, I followed the instructions exactly. The lemon yogurt really makes this!

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

I didn't have parsley, but this was wonderful without it! My family cleaned this up in one sitting. My husband and I agreed this was the best cauliflower we'd ever had!

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
These are not pretty, but they're delicious, super moist, easy, and very cheap to make! I used a can of pumpkin pie mix instead of plain pureed pumpkin and skipped the spices. I'll definitely be making these on a regular basis!
