I used all black raspberries and it was sooooo good! My husband said it's a keeper. I didn't change anything and followed the recipe as written.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2011
These turned out beautiful for me. Instead of using toothpicks, I used 6 inch wooden skewers. It was easier to dip them in my double boiler then stick them in a piece of styrofoam. I stuck the pointed end of the skewer into the styrofoam. It was more secure than sticking the other, flat, end in. I used chocolate disks made for candy and melted them. The chocolate set up quickly and I was able to lay the finished strawberries in a pan with wax paper on the bottom. I also laid 2 layers of paper towels under the wax paper. They traveled well in my covered cake pan.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

I have used this recipe for a bridal shower tea and got rave reviews. I plan on using it again for another tea. The Perfect Lemon Curd recipe on this site is delicious with these scones. It's a versatile recipe and you can't miss with it.

Sweet Bacon Dogs

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
I made 132 of these tasty little things for my daughter's college graduation party last week. They were snatched up so fast I barely got a taste. We made them, as someone else suggested, by cutting the bacon in thirds, rolling the Li'l Smokies up and laying them on the seam. I baked them ahead of time in the oven then put them in the crockpot to keep warm until serving. To serve, I placed them in a chafing dish (I needed something a little fancier than the crockpot)They stayed rolled up and toothpicks weren't needed to secure them. Easy to make and a real hit!!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
I'm not the pie baker in the family but I had to try this one. The syrup is what makes this pie so delicious. I used 1 Tbsp. of flour, 1 tsp. cinnamon, nutmeg, and 1 Tbsp. vanilla. Reduced the water by 1 Tbsp. and used Ida Red apples. Brushing the crust with the syrup gives the crust a wonderful taste. I agree with others that suggested coating the apple slices with the syrup before putting them in the pie crust. I will make this again and again and again. Grandma Ople has a winner here.

Slow Cooker Macaroni and Cheese I

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
I only got a forkful of this because that's all that was left when I got to it but it tasted great to me, creamy and cheesy. I doubled the recipe for a picnic. I followed others suggestions and used whole milk in place of the evaporated plus the regular milk it called for. I also used 4 C. cheddar cheese and 4 cups of Velveeta. I only used 1 egg because I wanted it creamy. I also used white pepper and dry mustard and didn't precook the macaroni. I used my 6 quart round crockpot and set it on high for 3 hours. Half way through I stirred it (something I never did before). We need to remember that not all slow cookers or crock pots are created equal. Typically a slow cooker heats from the bottom up and a crock pot heats around the sides. Some crock pots are hotter than others when set on low or high. I got rave reviews from everyone that got some of this. I plan to make it again this week with a meatloaf. It's just so easy!!!

Creamy Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
This recipe is good but I have tasted better. It set up well but I could definitely taste the brown sugar. I had to use a reduced fat peanut butter because I accidently picked up a jar of extra crunchy at the stor and I really wanted a smooth fudge. I may try this again with regular peanut butter.

Curried Chicken Tea Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
I made this for my daughter's bridal shower. It was served on a bed of lettuce and was the best I've ever had. I got so many compliments on this and requests for the recipe. I added Craisins and golden raisins along with the other ingredients. It was eye appealing and delicious.

Pretzel Dessert

Reviewed: May 16, 2007
My middle daughter requests this dessert instead of a cake on her birthday. The key to making this dessert turn out great is to be sure and seal the cream cheese/whipped topping layer around the edges so the cooled Jello won't seep into the pretzel layer below. The sweet/salty crust is a nice compliment to the other layers. This is a winner with my family.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: May 1, 2007
Tried this for Sunday dinner and it was delicious! I used 1 can 99% fat free cream of chicken, 1 can 99% fat free cream of celery soup and fat free chicken broth. I also put 1/2 packet of Lipton dried onion soup in since I didn't have fresh onion. I used the reduced fat Bisquick for my dumplings. I dropped the Bisquick batter in 30 min. before we were ready to eat. This is a keeper. Easy and delicious.

Easy and delicious. I added Lipton Onion Soup as suggested by others instead of an onion and will definitely make this again. It would be good over mashed potatoes too!

Party Punch IX

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2006
Tried this recipe for my daughter's graduation party. It was delicious. I froze the mixture in quart ziploc bags in advance and on the day of the party placed them in a cooler about 3 hours before I was ready to mix the punch. It was so good!!! I made 2 different kinds before the night was over. Guests loved it. I will use this again and again and again!!

Slow Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2006
This recipe turned out great for me. It took 4 hrs. in my oblong slow cooker. I added a can of crushed tomatoes to the sauce to make sure there was enough to cover the noodles. My family really liked this too.
