Dutch Apple Pie with Oatmeal Streusel

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
I added just a pinch of salt to the streusel topping but otherwise made as is. Great way to use up a store-bought pie crust I had in the freezer and a few Granny Smith apples.

Honey Wheat Sandwich Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
These were very simple to make for a beginning breadmaker and very good. We made chicken breast sandwiches with them and I froze the remaining rolls for a side to eat with meals for the next week. Great recipe!

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
Oh so good and so easy. If I had a stand mixer I'd make these all the time! I made them with the nacho cheese sauce from this site for a super bowl party and they were a hit. I ended up just making ropes and cutting them into pretzel, bites. That for me was easier than trying to roll the ropes thin enough for actual pretzels.

Tortillas I

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
I halved this recipe because I just didn't think I could make tortillas. Well, they turned out fabulous. When DH came home I had him taste one and he looked at me and said, YOU made those? You MADE tortillas? Easy as pie I said. Great, easy recipe. They didn't take as long as I thought they would either.

Tangy Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
This was good! My husband loved it and suggested we use the marindade for pork chops and chicken.

Grilled Thighs and Drumsticks

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
Made this for my husband and brother-in-law. They both seemed to enjoy it and BIL couldn't stop talking about the sauce. I boiled the marinade to use as a sauce to put over the cooked chicken and froze the remainders for another day. It was pretty good!

Quick and Easy Green Chile Chicken Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
This was good and easy so it's an automatic 4 stars in my book. I found it a little soupy but I think any casserole of this type just is that way so we didn't mind. I'll make again no question.

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
Eh, this was ok. I thought the red wine vinegar overpowered the lime flavor, but it wasn't super bad. I only used 2 chicken breasts and the sauce was just enough so I highly doubt the sauce described would make enough for chicken for 10 servings. It was ok but I probably won't make again.

Penne with Garlicky Broccolini

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
I made this for my husband and I with regular broccoli and added a diced roma tomato. Since he isn't a big garlic fan I only added two cloves, but I think next time I'll add three. It was a little dry so I just added a tablespoon or two of oil. I also added more like a handful of shredded parmesan cheese. Husband said he rated it somewhere between "make again" and "make a lot".

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2008
These were good. The cloves added something new and different - but I won't make them like that every time. Definitely a nice change up though!

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2007
This was good. I am always worried when I try new recipes that it will not be good and I'll have wasted the food and money but this one was a success. Very simple. I used a Jiffy crust mix and topped it with a fairly thin layer of ranch dressing. I shredded some extra cooked chicken tenders and mixed them with some Frank's RedHot Sauce, but not nearly a whole bottle and topped with prepackaged "Pizza Cheese". It was great!

Chocolate Covered Cherries

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
I never would have thought that I could make candy like this--on the first try! I used Ghiradelli Chocolate chips melted in a cereal bowl over some simmering water and added a little shortening. Worked like a charm. I was hoping the white center would "dissolve" into just juices and sure enough, after just a few days they have. I'm so impressed with myself and this recipe. Thanks!

Stromboli

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2006
I just used this recipe for a base to go off of. I live in a small town and the small grocery store did't have refrigerated crust so I bought a Jiffy mix and it worked just fine. I added sauce, ground beef, and the pizza toppings my husband likes, folded it over and had a great meal. My husband loves calzones (more like what my "stromboli" ended up being, and he was quite impressed!

To Die For Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2006
My sauce never thickened completely but tasted great! I served on a bed of bowties with some broccoli and grilled chicken on top and a roll on the side. Yum! And the house smells great! Will try again to get sauce to thicken. I found a convinient blend of grated parmesan and romano cheeses near the grocery store deli area--this saved me having to buy the two differnt kinds!

White Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2006
So good!! These cookies have always been a favorite and I happened to eat one at Subway the other day and it sent me on a mission to find a great recipe--and this is it! They are the best looking and tasting cookies I've ever made. Next time I will take them out a little sooner than I think they should--to make a softer cookie but even though I don't like cookies on the crispy side I love these! I'm so glad I tried this recipe first! I've made cookies with white chocolate chips before and the chopped white chocolate bar/almond bark makes a big difference!

No Time to Cook Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2006
This has been on my list to make all week and I finally dared try it out today. I followed the recipe except for adding garlic powder and salt/pepper. I think it added a lot to the flavor which probably otherwise would have been bland. Also, I saved time by preparing everything in the slow cooker removable dish and put it in the fridge last night and just popped it in the actual unit this morning on my way out the door--it worked perfectly. My husband and I both licked our plates (civilized, I know) and he said "Definitely make this again." Thanks for the great recipe!

Beefy Baked Ravioli

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
I've been married for 2 and a half weeks and just made this tonight for my husband and brother-in-law. They both loved it! Thanks for the quick, easy recipe! I cut it in half and made it in a 9x9 pan and used the "cheap" Wal-Mart frozen ravioli. It made plenty for the three of us! Yum!

Chicken Stuffed Shells

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
My filling turned out dry and the sauce seemed to taste pretty bland, but I love the idea and am looking for ways I could improve on this recipe. Thanks for a great start.
