Gingerbread Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2011
HOLY COW this is delicious! I nearly gave it 5 stars just for the batter (which I totally ate off the spoons), but am glad I waited. If I could give this recipe 6 stars - I would. I didn't make the orange glaze, but made a simple vanilla glaze instead. De-lish-us!

Red Pepper Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
I made this for the second time tonight. The first time was DELICIOUS! This time I followed the advice to puree before adding the broth. This is a BAD IDEA. My soup tonight was really lumpy and lacked flavor. Sad. I will continue to make this soup, but will puree last next time.

Shrimp Red Thai Curry

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
This has a great taste, but is a bit bland. I added veggies (zucchini, onions and red pepper) as well as ginger, cilantro and salt. I'm excited to taste it tomorrow - I hope other reviewers are correct that it tastes better the next day.

Channa Masala (Chickpea Curry)

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
I made this exactly as the recipe says. The only thing I changed was to use white flour rather than rice flour. The flavor was good, but kind of bland. I'm hoping it gets better tomorrow (as another reviewer has mentioned). Paired with garlic naan, it made for a good dinner, but I don't know that I'll make it again.

Tzatziki II

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2010
Made with fresh cucumber and mint from the garden, this was amazing! It was a little runny, but we started with runny yogurt, so we were doomed from the start. Still - so, SO tasty. I will be making this again. Often.

Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
Delicious! I didn't have time to marinade and it still turned out amazing. Can't wait to try it next time with marinading time!

Cappuccino Cookie Bar

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2010
Wow! I changed a few things: 3/4 cup butter, 2 tsps vanilla and 1/4 cup strong espresso to the cookie mix, no coffee grounds on top! We ate them hot out of the oven and they were delicious!

Red Lentil Curry

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
Apparently red lentils are not my strong point - mine got mushy! However, the taste was delicious! I will definitely be making this again!

Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I admit I was a bit skeptical - how can something baked (uncovered) for 30 mintues be tender? Holy cow was I glad I tried it. It did take closer to 45 mintues to cook, but it was SO juicy and tender. Delicious!

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
I thought this was delicious, but the bf just thought it was 'good.' I cut down the paprika, as suggested by others and used Italian seasoning instead of basil. I would absolutely make this again!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
While this bread was good, it was not as spectacular as the reviews led me to believe. It was a hit at our company Christmas party, though! I made two larger loaves and baked for about 1:10. Also, since we didn't have cloves or nutmeg, I used 3 1/2 tsp of allspice instead. I think the ratios are about right!

Lime Sherbet

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2007
To me this tasted like jello with whipped cream. Mine was very icy (could be because we used skim milk)and way too sweet. I was so excited to make sherbet at home, but this recipe was not the one for me. :(

Blueberry Snow

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2006
I made some serious changes to this recipe. My family is not big on trifle, so I made it as a cake! First, I bought fresh blueberries. I mixed together 12ozs lite whipped cream, blueberry flavored cream cheese and about 1/4 cup milk. No sugar. Then, I added about 1/4 of the blueberries. I cut my cake in half, and spread some of the whipped cream mixture between the layers. Then I covered the rest of the cake with the mixture. I cooked the rest of the blueberries making essentially pie filling. I drizzled that on the top of the cake. It was delicious! My family all went back for seconds. We will be making this again and again! Thanks for a great recipe!
