Basic Crepes

Reviewed: May 12, 2010
Great "basic" recipe. I added about 1 tbsp of vanilla and 1 1/2 tbsp white sugar. The kids liked it and the toppings are endless.

Sausage Potato Soup

Reviewed: May 11, 2010
Followed as close as I could without buying tons of prepackaged food. I left out the chicken, it doesn't really need it. I bought Mild Italian Pork sausage and took the casings off. I peeled and diced 3 white potatoes. Super easy and delious. The kids even ate it and didn't complain about the heat from the red pepper flakes.

Herbed Greek Roasted Potatoes with Feta Cheese

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
The feta makes a really nice addition to this dish. I would serve this as a side dish for company. I did add some red pepper flakes and didn't use any water. Clubhouse has a great Greek blend out that had great flavors in this dish.

Grilled Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
I'm not normally a fan of PB & J but with this simple twist it won me over. It helped that my kids liked it too.

Turkey Lasagna (Can start night before.)

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
I used sweet Italian turkey sausage with the casings removed. I also used oven ready noodles. This is pretty much the same as "Linda's Lasagna" but with turkey.

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
Made a few changes just based on what I had on hand: I used Sweet Italian Turkey Sausage (casings removed), no paste or sauce just used my fave tomato sauce.

Garlic Asparagus with Lime

Reviewed: May 4, 2010
The garlic was nice but the lime added more bitteress to an already bitter vegetable.

Souvlaki

Produced a very tender meat. Cooked in the oven at 425' for 25 minutes in the marinade. Served over rice with the remaining juice.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
Very moist with a bit of crunch from the cornmeal. I like it served warm with butter and maple syrup (maybe it is a Canadian thing?). My mom used to make "Johnny Cake" which is very close to this recipe and throw in ham, cheese and jalepenos.

Mom's Apple Fritters

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
Excellent, easy and not too sweet. Kid approved. Did them up in the deep fryer. I did a half batch and it was enough for everyone.

Cookie Balls

Very easy to make but VERY sweet. Couldn't find almond bark to save my life so melted milk chocolate down and dipped away.

Chewy Red Raspberry Squares

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2010
I followed exactly and the flavour was terrific but it didn't set. The crust fell apart and I couldn't serve it for company.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
Followed some of the suggestions of other reviewers. I used: 3/4 cup butter. 1 cup white sugar. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 1 tsp vanilla. I didn't have any ice cream but I'm going to run out tomorrow and get some. :)

Bacon and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2010
I love soup. This recipe is very good as is, plus it is ingredients that you would always have on hand. Besides, who doesn't like bacon?

They were soggy, not crispy at all. That being said they had great flavor and got eaten up.

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2010
It was a nice change from the everyday. I personally found it too sweet. I had added some red pepper flakes for heat and found it was a nice blend. I let it simmer on the stove all afternoon and the house smelled fantastic.

Oven Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2010
Great base recipe. Add whatever spices & herbs you like and roast away. I even used Tollhouse Salad Blend with extra garlic powder, salt, pepper, basil, parsley and lots of red pepper flakes. Fantastic!
