Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
FANTASIC! This recipe turned out juicier than when I make it in a crock pot. I'm making it for company, that is how confident about it I am.

Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
This recipe is a keeper. My kids (and my father-in-law) get excited when I make this. It has always turned moist and delicious. I always use fresh ginger instead of ground. It is really handy to keep a jar of minced ginger in the fridge just for this recipe. I've even used this marinade to make beef jerky. Wonderful!

George's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
Very chewy and soft. I will probably be making these again over other chocolate chip oatmeal cookie recipes I have.

Found it to be a tad greasy, but overall it has good texture and taste.

Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
Wasn't the greatest truffle recipe but they were easy enough to make. I took the whole batch to a baby shower and brought home an empty platter.

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
Good basic recipe. I added carrots, celery, and hot chili sauce to taste. I used the suggestion of others and added some cinnamon. I found it an interesting taste change from the beef chili I'm used to.

Pork Tenderloin Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2008
The predominate flavour was tarragon, other than that it had no flavour of its own. I can think of better things to do with a tenderloin.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2008
My kids LOVED these. They turned out incredibly moist. Normally I am not a brownie fan, but these were terrific. I added about 2 tbsp extra flour and 1/2 a tsp more vanilla. Thanks for a great and easy recipe.

Blueberry Crumb Bars

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
Not bad but I found that they weren't sweet enough. I baked mine in a pan lined with greased foil and they came out great. I added vanilla to the crumb mixture.

Vanilla Crepes

SOoooo good. Before I'd go to The Golden Griddle just for crepes and now I don't have to thanks to this recipe. These are fantastic.

Creme Brulee French Toast

What an easy breakfast to make up the night before. I have made this for company time and time again and each time get asked for the recipe. Try it, love it.

Tomato Spinach and Basil Soup

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
A very healthy soup that just needs a bit more of a bite to satisfy the taste buds of my family. I took my hand bender to the soup before adding the spinach to give it a smoother texture.

Cheese Straws

Reviewed: May 29, 2008
Better than the recipe I grew up with. You do need to add a little extra milk to have them hold together, but just add a little at a time until it takes shape. Make sure your board and rolling pin are well floured. I sprinkle some of them with cayenne pepper for myself and leave the rest plain for the kids. These are NOT like goldfish crackers. If you have ever had cheese buns this tastes like the cheese that is baked on top. It is buttery and flaky and great for a snack or to dip in tomato soup.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
I used less salt, more sugar and vanilla. They resulted in very thick pancakes but maybe just a little too heavy. Next time I might use a little more milk as well.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: May 16, 2008
A great chewy cookie recipe. My husband found them a little on the bitter side so next time I make them I might use milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.

Strawberry Muffins

After adding more vanilla and a smash (or two) of strawberry vodka these muffins were full of flavour. They smelled great, looked fantastic and tasted delicious!

Easy and Elegant Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: May 15, 2008
Even using the suggested revisions (salt, pepper, garlic powder) my family found it lacking in flavour. I probably wouldn't bother with this one again.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: May 15, 2008
I used 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 cup mini chocolate chips and 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips. I omitted all the pecans since none of us are big nut fans. They were decent muffins although a tad dry and crumbly. If I was to make them again I might soak the oatmeal for longer.
