About this Cook
I'm a stay at home mommy to my son, born December 2009. I watch the Food Network whenever I can, and I've learned so much from it over the years! I love cooking and baking, minus the cleanup! I try to make everything from scratch, within reason (one day I'll make all our bread from scratch). I got a kitchenaid mixer a few years ago for my birthday, and ever since then it has made cooking/baking a lot easier!
My favorite things to cook
i love to use as many fresh ingredients as possible. always looking to *gourmet-ify* every day foods, like pizza, sandwiches, pastas, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter when my mom or aunt cooks for everyone. I also love my great grandma's stuffing recipe, my aunt's chicken and dumplings, and my grandma's velvet midnight cake. YUM!
My cooking tragedies
homemade macaroni and cheese. my cheese sauce never turns out right, and i still havent figured it out!

Frozen Strawberry Yogurt
this was so easy and very delicious! i had fat-free vanilla yogurt and 2% milk, so i used that. i also used frozen sliced strawberries. im eating it for breakfast right now :)

Clone of a Cinnabon
delicious. time consuming (even with my trusty kitchen-aid!), but worth it. tasted almost like a cinnabon, i think with a little more tweaking it would be exact! the center of the cinnabon is my favorite, where its really soft and gooey. i think ill bake these just a couple of minutes less so the outer portion of the roll isnt hard. i melted the butter and spread that over the dough, then sprinkled the cinnamon sugar mixture over that and had no problems with it running out during baking. i might even double the cinnamon sugar mixture next time! for a rare treat, im going all the way! :)
