My mother used to make this dish. It was one of my favorites. Still is.

Excellent recipe. They disappear very quickly.

It was as good as, or better than all the hams I've made in the past. Simple and delicious.

The rum taste and smell was just too strong. The only good thing I can say was it was moist.

I have made many versions of ham over the 40+ years of cooking. This is the best by far. I was asked, by several previous guests, to make it again for Christmas dinner. I was perusing the reviews to see if I could add anything above what has already been said. I think 25 minutes is too long to bake this dish. Mine turned out a little too done around the edges. I also added whole salted peanuts. Should have crushed them. The taste is good though. Next time I'll do it a little different. I'll review it again, hopefully with better results.

I followed the recipe to a "T" and this recipe did not turn out well for me. It lacked the sweetness of other nut breads that I've tried from this site. I think another cup of sugar might have done the trick. Very disappointing to say the least. I've been a member for nearly 8 years and plan my meals solely from here.

As others have done, I added more vanilla plus the salt and baking powder. Additionally, I used 3 1/2 cups of butter and 1/2 cup of peanut butter. As I added the flour, the Kitchen Aide mixer was starting to stumble at about 3 1/2 cups, so thats all that I added. I baked them for the prescribed 12 minutes and they turned out perfect. I got a yeald of 75 cookies about 2" in diameter. The next batch I make, I'm going to cut back to 3 cups of chips. These are wonderful cookies and all that tasted them raved at their flavor. Their should be a 6 star selection for over and above excellent. This will be the only recipe that I will use for Chocolate Chip cookies from now on. Thank you ever so much for sharing. Bob

I made this with cut up pieces of Spam and it turned out great. Not as good as with shrimp but very satisfying. Excellent recipe. Bob

I made these beans for the first time utilizing canned beans. Omission of the steaming process made it even quicker. They turned out awesum. My gal and I devoured them with baked trout. Wonderful. Thanks for the recipe. Bob

I put in all the ingredients plus two cans of sliced new potatoes and 2 cans of sliced carrots. We then went for an 8 hour ride. The house smelled great when we returned and the result was fabulous. This recipe has been added to my recipe box and will be used again. Thank you Lori.

This didn't work out for me.

This is a surprisingly good cake. I froze one of the loaves and had the other right away. After thawing the other loaf after a month, it was as moist as the original. An excellent recipe that I will use over and over. Thank you Cindy
